Useful option for eating with family

I had a very nice meal here with a seeded chickpea roast, although a bit heavy on the cranberry sauce. They also have smaller appetite options for most of the meals. Good value for money and home cooked food. It was a good option for eating with omni family members.

One happy vegan bear

Very friendly busy pub. We went at mid day and the pub was full with a nice atmosphere. They provided a full vegan menu which had two starter, 4 mains and 3 deserts. Food was very good, good sized portions and tasty. Will be coming back here again.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Friendly and helpful staff , Vegan condiments

staff clued up on veganism

There's a separate vegan menu which has two starters, four mains and three puddings. Taff are knowledgable and proud of the fact they have a amperage menu. The nut roast was filling and delicious. The linguini was a bit blond for my likening but had good texture.

A worthy experience

This pub is situated a fair drive from the local towns of Bournemouth and Poole, and is probably not worth driving to; however, if you are in the area or passing through, then it is definitely worth checking out.

There are a few items on the menu that we thought were a little bit plain or uninspiring (Chilli, Potato and Lentil Cakes, and the Hazelnut and Cranberry Roast), but other items really did hit the spot (Vegetable Bruschetta and the Spinach and Butternut Squash Linguine). The side salad that is served with the majority of the main courses is simply a handfull of slady bits without dressing, which did not impress at all. Finaly, the deserts look interesting, and our chocolate cake with custard was well presented and tasty.

We liked the vegan chocolate we received after our meal, and the idea of a liquor coffee with soya cream was very tempting.

Pros: A seperate vegan menu, Parking, A mix of guests, mainly older

Cons: A little expensive for what it is, Boring side salads

Good vegan menu

Went here with friends from work for a leaving do at my suggestion as I had heard good things about the vegan menu. I was really impressed by my field mushroom and chickpea burger, it was one of the nicest burgers I have had anywhere.

Pros: Separate vegan menu with about 4/5 mains and some

Cons: A 'small plate' option is available on the

Excellent vegan choices!

This spacious and welcoming establishment has gone a long way to accommodate its vegan customers. There's a separate vegan menu (you need to request the vegan menu) which includes 2 starters, 4 mains and 3 puddings. There's vegan ice-cream, soya milk and custard too!
In addition, for veggies there's numerous vegetarian meals on their standard menu.
Great service, hugely recommend!!!

Pros: Separate vegan menu

Cons: None

Great vegan selection, super lovely and friendly

The Bear Cross do very nice pub food at reasonable prices. The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is lovely.

There's a separate vegan menu with several different options for starter, main and desert - all of which were delicious.

Two of us had a 3 course meal with 2 soft and 2 alcoholic drinks for less than £50. Highly recommended, lovely place!

Also has a gluten free menu and a "small appetite" menu.

Pros: Separate, extensive vegan menu, Nice but affordable, Parking
