Stunning place right by the beach - Edit
The vegan options on the menu are a bit limited, but the ones they have are very good. We went for the vegan haggis roll, which was actually similar to a burger (I would recommend adding some toppings to it, as otherwise it's a bit dry). We also went for the buddah bowl and the salad, and they were both quite good and healthy; just make sure you ask the server to swap the halloumi for vegan feta cheese. They had some vegan desserts, which looked yummy, but we didn't try them. The view from the tables that are on the promenade is stunning and the indoor sitting area looked very mice as well.

Well prepared food - good Vegan options - Edit
Although perhaps at the upper end of cafe prices the food here is good restaurant quality. Good range of options, full choice of milks. Hot chocolate in plastic cups is a little eccentric but otherwise lovely seaside views and top food!

Beach views - Edit
Small vegan selection and nice location directly at the seashore. The avocado toast with mushrooms was delicious but prices (£14). The cake selection was a bit disappointing, so we didn't get any.

Nice vegan options by the beach - Edit
The Beach House has various delicious vegan options. My Buddha bowl was tasty and very filling. The courgette soup and the Porty smash very delicious, too, based on the experience of my non-vegan friends.

Lovely place on the beach - Edit
Very friendly staff, seated very quickly. Nice views of the beach and great atmosphere. A few vegan options to choose from, had the porty smash which was delicious. Came around 11am and they had run out of croissants and pancakes for my non vegan friends so getting here earlier is recommended.

Delightful! - Edit
Stopped in for tea and after seeing menu changed our lunch plans! Fresh. Several vegan options. Lots of vegetarian options. I had porty smash but added poached egg. (Without egg it is vegan.) Hubby had Vegan smash. Both so delicious, fresh, hot and great presentation. Green smoothie very fresh. 5 vegan cake options. Will return again. We were here on a weekday and late morning. Favorite spot for locals. Can be a long que but we got in pretty quickly. Tables by the seaside are well sought after. We had a view through large windows.

Amazing cakes - Edit
We really enjoyed a leisurely lunch at The Beach House. We had a great choice of delicious vegan food and fantastic vegan cakes. The staff were very friendly and laid back. They did not rush us even though they had a queue waiting for tables. It is a lovely location right on the beachfront. Highly recommend checking it out - it's worth the wait, and worth travelling to Portobello for from Edinburgh city centre.

lovely place! - Edit
We went there mostly for coffees and I ended up having an iced oat milk mocha. The waitress came back to double check because apparently the drink has chocolate ice cream in it, which isn’t vegan, so we decided to just leave it out. I thought that was great because I’ve been to enough places where staff didn’t realise that if I order a milk alternative, it means I don’t consume dairy. Seems like a little thing but I appreciate when someone pays attention😄The mocha was delicious, even without ice cream and I highly recommend it. Their chai is made in house, which is great. Unfortunately they use honey for their syrup so it’s only fine if you’re veggie. We’re not super strict with honey so my partner had it and it was one of the best chai lattes he’s had (miles apart from the powder stuff some places serve). One of our group had the curried cauliflower and he said it was very nice too and there were a few vegan cake options too. If I ever go to Portobello again, I’ll definitely go here for lunch.

Went for breakfast and lunch as I was waiting on my car to get mot and service. Had the superfood porridge for breakfast, which was a good size portion with a good mixture of savoury and sweet flavours.

BBQ tofu toasted sandwich with a wee side salad. BBQ flavour is subtle, great if you want a light lunch.
They don’t have loads of vegan options available but there is a good mixture of what they do have.

Delicious food and friendly staff - Edit
This cafe is my absolute favourite place to go for brunch! There are a good selection of lunch options too. The vegan options are clearly marked on the menu and the staff are both helpful and knowledgeable. The only downside is the lack of vegan cake offerings - apparently they are trying to fix this but so far haven't had much success when trying to bake them.
