Disappointing - Edit
I chose one of two options that could have been made vegan and I asked for my meal to be made vegan. But the vegetables came cooked in butter. Disappointing. Maybe they should have one vegan option on the menu instead of vegetarian options.

Pleasantly surprised! - Edit
There wasn’t a lot to choose from because so many places had closed down due to the previous year’s horrific floods but we weren’t disappointed. Three great vegan options - we had salt and pepper tofu and a falafel burger. Great service - stu fast and friendly. Would definitely go back next time I’m down that way.

Disappointing - Edit
My fifth attempted at dining at The Bank Cafe since new owners in 2017 (yes, I have walked out 3 times and not eaten here for several different reasons), one time I had a coffee, it was pretty bad.
Read moreSo, finally, ate at The Bank Cafe today, I got all excited, because I was looking forward to a decent meal.
I ordered the Cauliflower Karaage. The meal was average, the salad was old, the meal seemed to have been prepared with store bought sauces, pickles and ingredients and the cauliflower was considerably flavourless.
My companion ordered the Byron Bay Burger (GF). His Burger arrived cold, and, while he said it was quite tasty, he mentioned that the chips tasted like FISH!
Staff were inattentive and sloppy with service. I would suggest this is due to inadequate training from management.
Overall, disappointing and not worth the prices charged for meals.
Sigh.
Cons: Poor service, Lacklustre food, Lack of fresh ingredients

We had delicious meals- Asian slaw & crispy tofu and Vegan scramble breakfast! Lots of plant milks to choose from and the best turmeric latte in Lismore!
