Lovely burger and chips - Edit
Really tasty burger and it was nice to have a non vegan meat option for a change- it was chickpea and butternut but tasted lovely as well as the homemade chips.

Disappointing despite nice staff - Edit
Not sure what happened with them, it ended up being quite disappointing. Everything sounded delicious on the menu, but not exactly what we got in our plates.
Read moreUnlike what a previous comment said, Yorkshire pudding is not vegan. It’s labelled as vegetarian on the menu. We asked for a vegan Sunday roast, and were served without any. Also it was initially served with no gravy, so it was quite dry.
The vegan burger was probably one of the most disappointing burgers I’ve had. The patty was overcooked, there wasn’t much in the burger and it was quite bland. Their ‘skin-on-fries’ were good though. We shared our disappointment with the staff and they were nice.

Vegan options but staff need training - Edit
We ate here in July 2019. The menu had clearly labelled vegan options, but when it came there was butter on our plate. The pub isn't locally owned, so it felt like head office sent down a menu with vegan options, but didn't train staff on what that meant.
Read moreThe pub atmosphere was nice and service was friendly. Would visit again, but explain vegan diet more carefully.
Pros: Menu with vegan options, Nice atmosphere, Friendly staff
Cons: Staff not well informed about veganism

Good vegan options - Edit
Seperate vegan menu with 3 courses available. We had the vegan burgers and these were tasty. Cosy pub with nice outdoor space and good views. Would come here again.

Lovely lunch - Edit
They have a seperate vegan menu with a good number of options. I tried their falafel starter, butternut squash and coconut curry, and most excitingly apple crumble for dessert! All the food I had was really tasty and fairly priced. The restaurant itself is lovely and cosy and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful.

Lovely separate Vegan menu. - Edit
Good food and nice cosy surroundings. Great little Vegan menu and good for rest of the family.
Read moreI’ve had the aubergine burger and sweet potato curry on separate occasions both of which were very tasty.
Also had the coconut 🥥 sorbet and the panna cotta both of which were nice but if you don’t like coconut there’s only 1 other option which is apple pie.
Pros: Separate Vegan menu, Menu has Vegan drink suggestions listed too. , Cosy and welcoming restaurant.
Cons: No offers on the Vegan menu

Excellent food - Edit
As it‘s been said, there is a separate vegan menu available with quite a lot of options for a „normal“ restaurant (3 starters, 5 mains and 3 desserts). We had the Winter Salad, Soup of the day (a separate vegan one with parsnip and apple), the Tomato Tarte and the Wrap with relish. Everything was delicious and very fresh. For dessert, we ordered a (warm) slice of apple pie, which was excellent as well. Highly recommend this place!

Nice for a beer after a walk - Edit
This is one of the better places to go in Balloch: The pub is nice and warm and the selection of beers is nice. They have some vegan food but it is not very prominently presented on the menu and quite pricey.

Beautiful surroundings - Edit
They came a long way from few years ago when a wee waitress with big attitude argued with me that fish is a vegetarian option. Now they have a separate vegan menu and the dishes I've tried were pretty good (chickpea burger, side of aubergines, free cider when you subscribe to their newsletter, also vegan), the place itself is very scenic outside and cosy and atmospheric inside. I was told that there is a vegan staff member working in the kitchen which I always find reassuring.

They had a separate vegan menu with many options. The kids menu even has the vegan options labeled. I had the tomato tart and absolutely loved it!
