Plant based gyros - Edit
I had the vegan chicken gyros wrap and it was good. The fries were inside the wrap! I followed another reviewer's advice and chose the Athenian sauce, but would probably go for normal (vegan) gyros sauce next time.

Delicious Satisfying Treat - Edit
Right next the coach station. Has plant based options, I had the vegan Gyros. It was delicious. The oregano fries was good and the portion size was very generous. Service is quite quick. I'd say the price is fair. I got the meal for one saver deal.

Tasty wrap - Edit
Had a quick bite here before taking a bus from Victoria station, had a plant based chicken with halloumi wrap and it was really flavourful. They have a wide selection of vegan food, including different wraps, boxes and bowls

Surprisingly good vegan halloumi! - Edit
Never had good vegan halloumi before but this one was a game changer. The gyros “meat” also quite tasty.

Delicious! - Edit
I had the vegan gyros box, which was really delicious. My only complaint is that I only realised afterwards that I didn’t get the vegan halloumi which comes as part of the box, so I didn’t mention it at the time.

Nick the Greek would not approve! - Edit
An opportunity lunch while waiting at Victoria Coach Station.
Read moreI feel rotten for giving it 3 stars and not 4, but it wasn’t as good as I’d hoped.
It’s a fast food joint with a good choice of vegan food, ordering and paying was efficient using their tablets. Delivery was also rapid.
I looked but could establish or confirm but it appeared as though the vegan food was being grilled on the same grill as meat. I could be wrong! (See photo)
There was plenty of vegan options although most were a variation of the 2 main courses (wraps and boxes) and sides.
Having missed breakfast and it being 1230, I chose the biggest offering they had with a side too - fat [censored]?
‘The Beast Vegan Gyros Box’ contained vegan gyros with Pea & non-GMO protein, marinated in Greek herbs, Vegan Halloumi fries and olive oil. Served inside a box with Greek handmade pita with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, parsley, oregano fries and a dip of my choice. I chose the Athenian Sauce which is their signature secret recipe sauce- A dairy free, mildly sweet mustard sauce served in a 5oz pot. It was bloody massive. I didn’t finish it because it was dry, even with the sauce. Gyros to me should have been dripping and moist and while it tasted good, it was dried out. The fries were dried out too and had clearly been nice a short while back. The salad was average but the vegan halloumi sticks and pita were amazing.
The ‘Courgette Fritters with Athenian Sauce’ were jut as I’d expected. Instead of courgettes it was a more like a falafel made of mushed courgettes and while that may not sound nice, they were really nice, especially when dipped in the signature Athenian Sauce.
Would I go back - probably not.
Would I recommend - if you’re stuck for choice and fancy a bit of gyros, yes.
Pros: Lots of vegan options on the same 2 themes, Quick, Handy for the coach station
Cons: Dry, Uninspiring

Really hits the spot - Edit
I love a Greek wrap after a night out and the Athenian’s ‘Beast Vegan Gyros Wrap’ really hit the spot. It’s stuffed with seitan gyros (so good), violife halloumi (another winner), oregano fries, salad and delicious sauces. I’ve been to another branch of Athenian before, and really enjoyed my food their too. There’s lots of options, it’s tasty and it’s filling. Really happy to have such a great Greek wrap option that’s open until midnight on weekends too!

Insanely good - Edit
I don’t understand the reviews saying it was tasteless. I had the vegan gyros wrap with heaps of the Athenian sauce and a side of the vegan halloumi fries. It was delightful and I wish I lived in London so I could have it more often!
Read morePros: Vegan options galore , The Athenian sauce is insane , Proper thick pittas straight from Athens

Totally underwhelmed - Edit
I’d seen people posting photos on social media of the vegan gyros from here and I’d wanted to go for ages. The first time me and my partner went we asked for the vegan gyro but it was sold out to which we were offered alternatives of chicken or beef... when we did eventually get our hands on one it was so underwhelming. It just tasted very charcoaled, the sauce was bland and not very much of it and the portion was small compared to how it looked on photos. Half the issue was that it didn’t live up to the hype that social media had created.

Nice but underwhelming - Edit
From the other reviews I had high hopes that the vegan food would be good but was a bit disappointed. Great idea but just a bit tasteless. My friend had the chicken gyros (real meat option to my vegan one) and felt the same way.

Amazing Vegan Gyros - Edit
The seitan in the gyros was perfectly spiced and had a great texture. The chips were perfectly cooked and seasoned. They use the best vegan mayo I’ve had and the ratio of sauce to filling was perfect, so nothing was soggy. Recommend trying if you’re nearby

Most delicious vegan gyros - Edit
Really lovely people in the open kitchen deftly tackle the crowds that gather for yum Greek food. The vegan gyros I had was so good! It’ll be my new Friday lunch treat for the foreseeable future!
