Poor reception, poor hours - Edit
I didn’t eat here. I was in town for a week and tried twice. First time, too late in the afternoon - three out of five days they close early. (Check the website. Hours may be confusing. Currently closed Mondays and Tuesdays. https://thearthousesouthampton.org/the-cafe/)
Read moreSecond time, I entered shortly before noon and was rudely/sarcastically informed that they were not open. (I was much happier walking a couple of blocks to Cafe Thrive, where the service is pleasant, and they open at 8:30 am six days a week and 10:00 on Sundays.)
I was going to rate this just one star, but Happycow automatically grants an extra star to all-veg places.
Cons: closed Mondays and Tuesdays, early closing Wed., Thu. and Sun.

Read moreYou may be unaware that we no longer operate in the way we used to, but have instead responded to the pandemic and then cost of living crisis by repurposing ourselves as a venue and social centre, running a community pantry and pay-as-you-feel cafe three days a week. We love Cafe Thrive and if you are after the standard vegan cafe with longer opening hours, we agree they're perfect! We hope you'll take the time to find out more about how we run, now. Apologies if you experienced rudeness when you visited, we're not sure when this was so can't really follow up.
