Nice quiet cafe - Edit
It was nice to find a quiet cafe when there were so many people in Whitby on Helloween weekend! Coffee was good and houmous baguette was simple but nice and filling. Wish they had vegan cake though ;)

Arty Cafe - Edit
Traditional place with lots of really nice original artwork for sale. The coffee is good and they have vegan options for the sandwiches but unfortunately no vegan cakes. Hopefully this might change as we mentioned it. Good place to go for a coffee and they have soya milk which is perfect.

Pictures of You - Edit
A beautiful and tranquil art space and cafe where you can feel at ease in the knowledge veganism isn't treated with contempt. After a very long walk we had a well earned Americano with a side of hot soya milk served in a quirky jug. A quick look at the menu confirmed decent vegan options such as soup including sweet potato, coconut, ginger and chilli, a couple of sandwiches and a ciabatta. The peanut and apple sandwich was a most intriguing combination. I'm giving it a strong 3 today based on a favourable experience. Very keen on returning in the near future for food.

Great for a lunch. Light and airy space - Edit
I have to say that finding something vegan in Whitby is not the easiest. The art cafe is one of the few places we could eat. Luckily it's lovely. It's up a small staircase into a small cafe area that forms part of an art gallery. Lots of light and air means it's a nice place to just sit. Staff are really friendly and as a jazz fan I enjoyed the back ground music. The menu is varied. Mainly not vegan but there is a vegan soup which sounded good. I had the hummus ciabata which was lovely. Served as a Danish sandwich with lots of topping including peppers and black olives. Drinks are the standard cafe fair. I had something corporate and fizzy. As a lunchtime alternative to chips this was an ideal option.

Vegan Oasis! - Edit
Really nice soup (have had it twice now!) and houmous sandwich make this a little oasis for vegans in Whitby. Soya lattes are great - all that is needed now is a vegan cake! The owners are really helpful and happy. We will definitely be back!

Cons: Needs vegan cake!
