Average food - Edit
I am vegan and have a milk allergy and was confused to find some of the vegan options weren’t suitable for me. The small plates were very nice but I had the burger for a main and it was so poor I had to send it back. The bun was dry and inside was so full of mayo it was sickening. I ordered the shepherds pie as a replacement which was alright but would have been nicer with some veg on the side. It’s quite expensive and I feel for the prices, the food is just average. Staff were very lovely and accommodating though.

Nice city centre venue, with vegan options - Edit
The nice venue, has both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu was clearly labelled, with a few vegan options. The nut roast was not available when I was there, so I had the Lost Shepherd’s pie, which was full of flavour. It would have been better, if it had come with some vegetables / a side.

Office Christmas Lunch - Edit
We came here for our office Christmas lunch because they could cater for a range of dietary requirements. Seasonal group meals can be a bit hit or miss, but this one was a hit. The Christmas set menu had a choice of two vegan starters, two mains, and one dessert. The food was delicious and served in generous, piping hot portions.
Read moreAs a large group booking, we had to pre-order our meals, but they had printed little cards with each person's name and a reminder of what they ordered. They also provided plastic-free Christmas crackers, which was a nice touch.

Few vegan options but tasteless - Edit
Called in for a meal this evening. Pleased to find vegan options. I had a simplicity burger and can honestly say it was the most disappointing meal I have had since becoming vegan.
Read moreThe bun was hard and dry. The burger was tasteless. No chips included just half a gherkin and some slaw which didn't taste of much either. We also had to chase a waitress around to get some cutlery.
Not a happy vegan!
Pros: Vegan options
Cons: Expensive and not worth it

Good Selection of Vegan Options - Edit
The Anthologist is a modern vibrant bar in Manchester city centre and part of the Drake & Morgan restaurant group. The Anthologist offers excellent vegan options and wines on their menus, all clearly labelled on the menu by a cute apple symbol, which makes life so much easier.
Read moreI ordered avocado houmous with gluten free flatbread, which was very tasty and loved the crunch and texture dukkah and pomegranate brought to the dish.
Mains were risotto for me and roast Jerusalem artichokes with Puy lentils for hubby. I always order risotto with trepidation, having been served some awful renditions in the past, but this was not bad. The rice was cooked al dente, butternut squash puree added flavour and with chunks of squash and vegan cheese added into the mix, I rather enjoyed it. The Puy lentil dish would not win prizes for looks, a very difficult dish to make pretty, but hubby really enjoyed it with chips and quickly polished it off.
We were pushed for time and had to forego desserts, as we had tickets for a concert at Bridgewater Hall, although I was quite full anyway.
I enjoyed The Anthologist, its a great place to meet up, with the added bonus of having vegan options so no having to make enquiries first and a good selection of dishes available too. I would definitely revisit.
Pros: Vegan options, Vegan wines clearly labelled
