Great Black bean burger - Edit
Not a whole lot on the menu, but the black bean burger and the mixed green salad were great. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Good for beer, bad for vegan food - Edit
Unless you're just looking for beer (which they have an abundance of) I would recommend you pass on this place. While it is true there are options that could be made vegan they seem less than happy to accommodate.

Hard to eat vegan - Edit
I was initially referred to this place to eat the "black bean veggie burger". It was said to be vegan. Mushroom duxelle, which is used in this dish (that is hit or miss as it can have hard undercooked bits in it), contains butter. The sriracha aioli is made with mayo.
Read moreThe portabello burger has two kinds of cheeses and even when you tell them no cheese and that you are vegan they will still butter the buns.
Your other choice is.... plain salad.
Last but not least, I found hair in my food repeatedly. The "chef" i found sweating over the food yelled at me. (This is after I sent my food with hair in it back nicely several times)
The restrooms are absolutely disgusting.
If you are not vegan, enjoy beer, good fries, and cleanliness isnt a big deal, you might love it.
Pros: Fries, Selections of beer on tap
Cons: No vegan choices, Filth, Rudeness

Yummy French Fries - Edit
The Anchor has your typically "pub-style" foods, but one thing that really stands out are there french fries. They have about 5 different french options that you can choose from and they are all delicious. The atmosphere is also pretty neat and they have 2 different rooms, which makes it perfect if you have a large group dining there.

Cons: Pricey

fun atmosphere and delicious food - Edit
This place has a fun and relaxed vibe--great for all ages and family friendly! Wide selection of drinks and vegetarian dishes. A few plates can be made vegan. I tried the portobello mushroom burger with a side of sweet potatoes, and it was delicious!

I'll go again - Edit
Traveling through Kansas and finding a decent place to eat as a primarily plant based eater can be challenging. Seeing the other review of The Anchor encouraged me to give this place a try. I had the portobello mushroom sandwich which was delicious with sweet potato fries. It could be made vegan leaving off the cheese and I'm guessing the bun might of had butter. While I'm giving this a 3 star since mainly because of limited options for vegetarians and vegans I'd give my meal a 4 star.
