Separate vegan menu and super friendly staff - Edit
We've stopped here for dinner and it was fabulous! The Amethyst has a great atmosphere, nice details and really friendly staff. There is a separate vegan menu, where you can choose from a few starters, mains and desserts. Perfect! We'll come back next time we visit Keel.

I was ready to live off chips for the whole trip - Edit
but gladly I have found this place 😀 They have a whole separate vegan menu and even vegan desserts! It’s a typical Irish pub/restaurant but it’s good to have options out here. The staff was very friendly and professional. Definitely will dine there for the rest of my stay here😄

I had the Vegan Spag Bol which was lovely and my mum (a non vegan) had the beetroot burger and she was raving about it! Vegan Chocolate & Coconut Cake dessert was absolutely delicious too!

Separate vegan menu. - Edit
Separate vegan menu, friendly staff. Lovely clean pub and clean spacious loos. Recently rebuilt 2016. Located very close to the beach. Ample car parking. I had a veg stir fry. It was a lot of fresh mixed veg, nicely cooked in a thick sweet Schizuan sauce, served with plain rice. It was delicious and much better than I’d expected as the menu didn’t look very creative. I’m told the beetroot burger was very nice too and came with lots of goodies - see pic. We were informed by the really friendly staff that the chef said they are launching their new vegan menu next week. It is really handy too if you are in the area as the beehive across the road closes at 4pm and Amethyst opens at 4pm so we can take our time knowing we are well catered for. We had lunch at beehive and dinner at Amethyst.

Defo visit again - Edit
They have a fulll vegan menu with at least 3 starters, mains and desserts. I got the potatoe skins and curry and they were absolutely delish. I would highly recommend this place. Be warned its very popular so you may have to wait for a table or make a booking. But it's worth it.
