Mid Cocktails

I've been wanting to try the alchemist for a long time but was disappointed unfortunately. The cocktails are just not very nice. They're strong and bitter and are fairly expensive. One in particular listed fairy liquid as an ingredient and it really did taste of fairy liquid. I don't know what I was expecting but I didn't think it would actually taste of soap.

I also found it awkward having to order at the bar and then go outside to the table. Staff weren't very welcoming and didn't explain how it worked. I think this place needs to make up its mind if it's a restaurant or a bar because it's not clear.

Drinks were made at the bar so only the person ordering could watch the gimmicky showmanship without risking having your bag robbed or losing your seat. And considering you're probably paying for the theatrics that's quite disappointing. I'm just thinking of somewhere like Incognitos which makes everything at your table.

Didn't get a chance to try any of the food but it does look delicious. That might've bumped up the score.

Fab food and creative cocktails

Dining here is a whole experience. The vegan options are varied from bao and gyoza to burger and goujons. The cocktail selection is extensive and they’re all immaculately presented sometimes with fire and smoke. Low lighting creates a moody atmosphere.

Pros: Lots of options
