Great menu not so great service. - Edit
Delicious vegan menu in a great location. Unfortunately I’ve had some unpleasant experiences with staff getting orders mixed up and being rude about it. Otherwise cool atmosphere and music.

Great food and service - Edit
We went on a Saturday at lunch time and a lot of tables were booked. The waiter was good and checked and showed us to a table and gave us menus.
Read moreWow is one word for the menu. We like food that does not look like pretend meat and we were in heaven.
We had three small plates between us. They were all wonderful and well prepared and presented. (we were not very hungry but if we we were hungry there were plenty of other dishes to chose)
It was a great meal, not expensive and we will return.
Pros: !00% Vegan, Good service, Near a buss route
Cons: Many tables were booked

Cute pub vibe, live music and delicious food. A real mixed menu with something to please everyone, the Chucky chips with garlic mayo was so so good! Such a nice atmosphere here.

Very good food, pricey drinks - Edit
The food at the 78 is good (less fatty and pub-food like than at the sister-venues Mono/Stereo/Flying Duck, which I liked) and because it is a bit in the west of Glasgow, it is also not overly busy and has an overall good atmosphere. I don't really like the drinks they offer (apart from being the only places in Glasgow which offer Club Mate, but for an outrageous price) and I find them very expensive at 4-6 pounds for a pint of fairly standard beers.

Possibly the best vegan food in Glasgow - Edit
The food at this place is delicious. I'd recommend the carbonara or the classic burger. The patatas bravas and padron peppers are also delicious! This is a great place to go if you're in the West End but I'd recommend booking in advance so you're guaranteed a table, it's been busy both times I've visited even though both were weeknights.

Cons: Could be a tad cleaner, Could be free?, A foot massage would be nice😉

Favourite vegan pub ever! - Edit
Every time we visit Glasgow! We get super excited about visiting the 78. It's super cozy inside and excellent service! Food is always fantastic. If you have time to stop by for breakfast, ooooh it's delicious! Love their wine and beer selections. We feel like home here especially because they are super dog friendly! If you are lucky, you might catch some live music in the evening too!

First place we ate at when we arrived in Glasgow and it definitely set the bar high for every other vegan place. Small friendly pub with its own charm. Staff were lovely and friendly and the food was spot on. It’s a favourite of ours for sure.

Disappointing - Edit
Was visiting Glasgow for the night and was looking for a place to eat. Seen some reviews on here and pictures of a burger with salad and fries , looked good so thought to go there.
Read moreThe place seemed nice though tables were dirty. But that doesn't bothered me.
Ordered burger with salad and fries. I was so dissapointed and angry after the order came. So basically all we got was bun with burger and like a tiny tiny amount of coleslaw on it, some fries and literary few leaves of salad . It looked nothing like pictures and was not how described on the menu - no lettuce , no tomatoe, no pickle, no onion and pretty much no salad. I was to upset to say anything, didn't want to seem fussy, and sadly I'm to shy for that. They obviously were short on veggies or something but don't understand why we weren't just offered something else.
Well anyway, for some it may have been good but for us it was terrible and overpriced experience for what we've got.
Pros: Vegan food, Vegan bar
Cons: Expensive, You don't get what you order

Nice atmosphere & beer - food ok. - Edit
Last orders for food and I went for Nachos. It was OK, served in a plastic basket. I felt the beans lacked flavour and the cheese substitute was pretty tasteless. The Birds and Bees real ale was great as was the music. Nice crowd and chilled ambience.

ok - Edit
It is always nice to be in a place that is completely vegan. The almosphere was nice, not intimidating or anything (although a bit cold inside as it was proper winter weather outside). It's cool that they are dog friendly. Good selection of food. We had broccoli-ginger soup, walnut-beetroot pate, quesadillas. It was ok, but maybe not entirely great. I was a bit disappointed with the soup and the pate but it could be that my standards are quite high when it comes to food! I thought both of them could have done with some smoothness and richness in flavour (although not any more salt!), and the pate should have had a warning of fresh garlic.

Went with our 2 year old daughter and our sausage dog. They’re kid and dog friendly, had plastic cups for the kid and a bowl of water for dog, who was also allowed to sit next to us on the bench.
Read moreWasn’t sure if they had breakfast and they did. They’re changing from serving pub food to restaurant quality food, since the new chef has worked at Mono.
Tried the Tofu Benedict, which was absolutely delicious. Could’ve sworn it had bacon in it!
The Quesadilla had a perfect taste chorizo and a guacamole that could’ve been made in Mexico.
They were kind enough to fix some Linda McCartney sausages and potato scones for our daughter.
Everything was on the spot, delicious and hot!!
Only downside was that we were a bit cold, even with extra air heaters.
Will come back!!
Thank you!
Pros: Kid and Dog friendly - soon to have kid’s menu. , Easy Parking. , Friendly, accommodating and fast staff.
Cons: A bit on the chilly side.

Great early evening if solo - Edit
I often travel about alone so finding places that I don’t feel weird in at dinner can be difficult. This was cosy and hipster enough that being solo wasn’t an issue, it just gets busy around 6 though so table hogging is about as weird as it gets. So much choice of food too, including an extensive specials board (wish I’d spotted the cauliflower curry!) and few pud options. Chips were the hand cut rustic-style. So good and tasted very wholesome (there were lentils in the burger!)

Trendy & Delicious - Edit
I loved the location and vibe of this place! It is in a very hip part of Glasgow and though it was busy when we came in, they made a place for us and we shared our table with another couple! The food was amazing with tons of yummy looking options (so tough to make a decision!) and I will definitely be back some day.
