Cosy pub - Edit
Lovely pub with a small but delicious menu! We all had carbonara and it was amazing. Saw the burger and it looked great too.

Amazing vegan food - reserve ahead! - Edit
We arrived without a reservation and were told it would be a 30-45 min wait. We decided to wait and it turned out to be only a 15 min wait which was great. We went for the cheese burger and carbonara with extra chips and aioli. Everything was great. My carbonara was delicious with a strong garlic taste. My husband had the burger and loved it which is high praise from a meat lover. He couldn't really tell the difference. The chips were amazing - just the right balance of crispy and soft, some of the best we've ever had. Didn't go for dessert this time. Hopefully next time! The service and atmosphere was spot on too.

Well worth a visit when in the Westend - Edit
My wife and I have visited The 78 a number of times, both for food and just for a drink, sometimes even a dance 💃🏽
Read moreThe relatively new menu features a number of tapas style small plates which are well thought out and very tasty. I remember really enjoying new potatoes in lemon butter with samphire - yum 😋 Restaurant style food, to a high standard, in a pub-like environment.
I have had the burger of the day and the curry of the day a few times and always been very happy with the flavours and the presentation.
There are also a rotation of Djs who perform later in the evenings and generally bring an enjoyable and appropriate, lively atmosphere to the place 🎶
Pros: Well thought out and varied menu, Good selection of vegan beers/wines, Out door seating
Cons: Slightly shabby (some people like this)

Christmas dinner - Edit
Visited here yesterday and had a wonderful Christmas lunch. Festive soup, turkey with roast potatoes, red cabbage, carrots, parsnips, spouts, stuffing and gray. Pudding was a warm mince pie with brandy butter, vanilla ice cream and red currants.

Carbonara - Edit
We stopped at The 78 for a spot of lunch and it didn’t disappoint. We opted for the Carbonara which was great and the portion size was also spot on. Additionally we had the roasted cauliflower, again spot on! Would come back in a heartbeat!

Good grilled cheese - Edit
A grilled cheese sandwich is not the most culinary challenging dish to order so this might not be representative of the whole menu. But it was a really good grilled cheese sandwich! Large portion, made on sourdough bread and a heap of vegan cheese. Can't go wrong with that!

Check out the breakfast plate. It’s huge, many diverse delicious and perfectly cooked components and a bargain at £10. The place is relaxing in the morning and has a good buzz.

Lovely lunch in the sun - Edit
I had a wonderful lunch with a friend in The 78, sitting outside in the sun! We had some olives and then ordered 3 “small plates” to share which was the perfect amount. We had: the crushed new potatoes, the white beans with sgaia bacon and the ranch salad.
Read moreThe desserts looked delicious too and the only reason we didn’t have any was because we ran out of time and had trains to catch!
Pros: Freshly made, delicious and such a variety!, Fab selection of sweet and savoury options , Friendly and welcoming staff

The restaurant has a fair few options for starters, mains and deserts. Including a number of daily specials. Food was very good. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic. The interior has a creative, artsy and relaxed feel to it. Some outdoor seating too.

Can't go wrong with the 78! - Edit
My Airbnb host recommended this place, and from the minute I tried dinner there, I knew why. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My family (all of whom are meat eaters) kept raving about the place. We even went back for lunch the next day. Their mochas are also incredible. If they have their strawberry cake, get it for dessert!

Delicious food, healthier options available - Edit
We enjoyed our stay at the 78. The atmosphere was relaxed, there were guests of all age groups. As it's a pub, we had some concerns that the pub might be full of drunkards on a Friday evening, but fortunately this was not the case.
Read moreI had the jackfruit shawarma with rice, which was excellent. For pudding, I ordered churros. They tasted great, but the chocolate "sauce" basically was just water with chocolate flavour.
Service was excellent at first, but we had to wait quite a long time for the bill.
This is a very busy place, so it is advised to book a table in advance.

Pros: healthier options available, delicious food, relaxed atmosphere

Really tasty vegan food - Edit
Really nice vegan food. I normally go for spicy food, but my stomach was a little off (unrelated) so I ordered the spaghetti carbonara to eat something gentle. Normally I would not have ordered this dish as I might find it plain, but I'm glad I did because I was totally blown away by how good it was. I would definitely order it again. The soup was delicious as well. My non-vegan partner thoroughly enjoyed the jackfruit shawarma and chips. It does get very busy. Recommend reserving a table. It's also a bar so as dinner went on we began to be surrounding by people standing around us drinking. This was a Sunday mind you. It perhaps wasn't the ideal dining environment. Service also declined as the place filled up.
