Awesome Vegan Buffet

I actually thought this place was really good! Ordering was a little difficult with a language barrier but that’s half the fun! Food was awesome, mock meats were amazing and I weirdly love the little bowl of spinach soup they give you on the side

Worth give a try

I find it good. The only reason on my rating is 3 stars is because the food and space is similar to An Lac Tam but we paid double (40k) for a plate of rice with mock meat and veggies.

Good

One person spoke English but wished they explained what you can order. Told her it was my first time at a com chay eatery but okay. Had a mixed plate from the buffet which came with w small bowl of soup for 40K, was good and food heated up in the microwave

Too much MSG

Food is okay, and cheap price (20k VND for a dish). But they used too much MSG in their seasonings and it made me feel sick after, my body has strong reaction with MSG.

Pros: Cheap price

Cons: Sick after eating

Doubles the price for foreigners

40k instead of 20k. Frustrating when you travel.for 8 months not 2 weeks

decent food but quite expensive

Com chay here was pretty nice, good vegetables, but they charged us 40k each, which was a lot more than other comparable com chays. Not sure if its 'tourist tax'.

Pros: good food

Cons: expensive

Not recommended

Very few vegetables, lots of mock-meats. I had a Pho, which was OK, people were smoking cigarettes at the table next to mine, and one employee was munching on a chicken leg at the table behind, didn't feel good. My last time there.

Pros: Cannot think of any

Cons: Not enough vegetables, Employees eating meat, using the same plates

Rip Off

Asked the price for soups and com chay; was quoted 30 K and 40 K respectively, even though everything on the menu said 20 K. Strange 'Buddhist' attitude towards foreigners.

Adequate, but not worth the price

We were told 40,000d for com chay and agreed even though it's double the price of com chay anywhere else. Afterwards we realised that the listed price for all other dishes is 20,000d. They clearly overcharge foreigners as a matter of course.

The food was okay but not worth paying the foreigner tax.

They cheat foreigners

Standard quality cheap vegan place. Everything listed as vnd20000. Com chay (rice and stuff) not listed. In 2 years living in Vietnam this is the only time we have been cheated in a chay eatery. She charged us double and basically blamed us for not asking the price when everything listed was the same price. It's not going to cripple us financially but it's the principle. With loads of veggy places in town why give these hard bitten people your money?

Pros: Cheap if charged correctly

Cons: Cheating owner

Great Food, Great Variety

We had looked for this place in the Dalat Market without success, but happened to find a new looking restaurant on the way to Linh Son Pagoda and discovered it was Com Chay Thanh Dam.
The owner was welcoming and spoke very good English.
She had an excellent variety of mock meats on display, as well as an array of other dishes available.
Both times we ate here we tried several different dishes and all were well cooked and extremely tasty.
The restaurant was very clean and the meals reasonably priced.
Highly recommended.

Pros: very good English spoken, great variety, very clean
