Some vegan options - Edit
This entire area is a challenge for vegans. I guess you have to settle for what you can find.
Read moreThey at least have a few vegan options, although not labeled on the menu, so you have to inquire. The red curry, which we very much looked forward to, used to be available vegan but not anymore. Very disappointing! The other options are ok but not as tasty as our favorite curry! Since the sauces are pre-made making a dish vegan isn’t an option. For years we would come here every time we visit. Don’t think we’ll be back though.

Fun Thai & Japanese Restaurant - Edit
Thaijindesu was is great little restaurant. The decor is cozy, and the service was really fantastic. They have a vegetarian portion of the menu (Basil Tofu was ridiculously good!), but they're able to customize much of the rest of the menu as well. For example, I ordered the Pad Thai with vegetables and no egg, and my daughter ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice with tofu and no egg (served in a pineapple!). The food was delicious. If we end up in Newport News again, we'll probably stop by!

Decent option on the Peninsula - Edit
Thaijindesu is cute, parking is easy, and the food is fine, but if Hampton had more good vegan options Thaijindesu wouldn't be someplace I'd go out of my way to go. It has a small vegan menu; the eggplant delight is my favorite dish. It feels like they put much more effort into presenting their meat dishes, which come out served in huge pineapples, etc. I don't know why they don't offer tofu as a protein option for their non-veg-menu dishes; seems like that would be easy to do. Their veg sushi options are minimal; they should look to Kotobuki in Norfolk for great ideas for vegan sushi.

Nice Night Out But Double Check the Menu - Edit
My fiancé and I went here after reading the reviews that it had good vegan/vegetarian food and it didn't disappoint! The menu had lot of different Thai and Japanese options for us and was enough that we'd love to come back to try more! Fair warning though, my fiancé got the veggie tempura and I don't know if it was a menu flaw or a flaw on our order itself, but it came with shrimp as well as veggies. :(

A+ Satisfied Customers Guranteed! - Edit
Thaijindesu is a unique dining experience for lovers of both Thai and Japanese cuisine. You like sushi? They have that. You like pad thai and thai curries? They have that too. There is an expansive list of veggie options, and the location (right in the beautiful square) is perfect and scenic

Cons: Not perfect for vegans
