Great favor and portions!

Forgot to take food pix but we got the pad see eew, drunken noodle, yellow curry, pineapple fried rice and papaya salad. All delicious! Heart food and the waitress was familiar with making everything vegan. The mock duck is great.

Pros: Large portions , Lots of flavor

Really good Thai food on the Coast

Has vegan moch duck, I prefer to ask my the sauce on the side other wise they get soggy but so good. Tom kah is good, their pad Thai is not my favorite but still good. I love that they have vegan mock duck as I feel they’re really pushing new options in the community

Just make sure you say vegan or no egg no fish sauce but they’re usually really good and know what vegan is! We love Thai elephant!!

Our favorite dishes are-
Pad sew with mock duck or tofu, all their curry’s are vegan and super delicious but our tops are the green and the yellow, Tom kah soup with tofu, mock orange duck, sweet sticky rice, cashew fried rice, fried rice, pad Thai

Update! Just learned that the lunch orders come with a side salad and a cup of soup! They are smaller than dinner portions as well. The salad was actually really tasty and the soup reminded me of the hot and sour soup broth but it was a bit lighter. Pretty tasty!

Thai Elephant is our fave too. I've had the lunch special a few times. And vegan doesn't mean no flavor!

I haven’t tried the lunch special if it’s other than the mock duck!

Our go to in Morro Bay

Lunch on a Saturday at Thai Elephant. We've been here a number of times, and have never been disappointed. Menu is marked and waitstaff are knowledgeable of a vegan diet.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly knowledgeable waitstaff

Lots of vegan options, authentic & delicious

My go to place when I want to eat out. Best Thai food in the area. They understand what vegan means and can veganize most items if you ask (no fish sauce, etc.) I am also gluten free, which is an even bigger challenge when eating out than being vegan, but they can accomodate gluten free dishes too. My favorites are their pad Thai, red and green curries, pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, fresh spring rolls, and tom yum soup. Good portion size and always delicious!

Could be better

Appreciated the vegan options here, but the quality was not great. My husband found a piece of string in his noodles, and my pad Thai was drenched in sauce that was far too sweet. Would not return…

Enjoyable

Got the basics of Thai down. Veggie heavy dishes that are good. Including drunken noodle and pad Thai.

Good Vegan Thai

I ate at this place based on review from a vegan on another review site. This restaurant is related to the one with the same name in Atascadero. Server was very helpful, recommending the best vegnanizable dish: pad see-ew noodles, which I ordered along with a fried tofu appetizer and cold spring rolls (fresh roll), which she assured me was vegan if shrimp were not included. I ordered fried tofu added to the noodles, tasty and a generous portion; also liked the rolls and fried tofu appetizer. The restaurant’s sign states vegan and vegetarian options available.

Pros: Interesting vegan options, Staff knowledgeable about vegan food and helpful , Large portions

Cons: Dish was a bit oily
