Terrible food, absurdly slow service - Edit
Although they did have a separate vegetarian menu with many options, the food was terrible. I ordered pad kee mao and asked for it to be as spicy as they could make it. The rest of my party ordered meat dishes, including two appetizers. It took nearly thirty minutes for one appetizer and another ten minutes for the second one. Entrées took another fifteen or twenty minutes.
Read moreThe food itself was terrible. My pad kee mao was completely drowned in sauce. Rather than being spicy, it was weirdly sweet. The noodles were overcooked and broken to bits. Some vegetables were overcooked, while others were undercooked, and (what I think were) the Basil leaves were old, and the tofu was very chewy.
The other dishes were of similar quality. For four people we spent about $100 on some of the worst food and service any of us had encountered. The server confronted us for not leaving a tip. After explaining why we didn't, she told us not to come back. We won't.
Pros: Full vegetarian menu
Cons: Bad food, Slow service

Great options in a desert - Edit
We visit the area every year but usually make sure we feed ourselves before visiting John's Pass. But not this time and never again! Not sure how I overlooked this place but we stopped by to order takeout to join the rest of our family at a bar nearby. We asked for the vegetarian menu and it is extensive! We ordered and as we were waiting, the sweetest lady who took our order came to talk to us about all the vegan options they have and how they're proud to offer it and they don't use fish sauce in anything and how she's happy the world is going more vegetarian/vegan. She brought us out some of the peanut sauce to try and it was amazing. Definitely getting that next time. If you're not sure what to order, ask! Because they are very knowledgeable about vegetarian and vegan. Probably the best spring rolls I've ever had!

Mediocre, but nice to have a vegan meal in this area - Edit
So nice to have a separate vegetarian menu and that they know what vegan is. The tom kha was a little lemony and I didn’t taste any galanga, the sweet and sour was a little heavy on the tomato and garlic, the cashew nut was pretty good.

Thai restaurant that understands no fish/meat broth! - Edit
Great little family run restaurant that has a separate vegetarian menu that is mostly vegan (watch for eggs in a few). They were excited about us wanting the menu and explained that they have had it for more than 10 years and the chief makes a whole separate broth and sauces for this menu. Tons of Tofu dishes.

Cons: Service wasn't super fast

Tasty! - Edit
Really lovely staff and tasty food. Big portions. We had red curry and fire tofu from the vegetarian menu (ask the separate vegetarian menu). I loved it.

Decent Vegan Food - Edit
There were numerous options on a dedicated & extensive vegetarian menu (need to ask for the vegetarian menu). Also, upon request, they prepared a really nice vegan sushi w/ soybean paper for my husband, who does not care for the typical seaweed wrapper. My dish was tasty. It was a little difficult communicating w the waitstaff to verify whether sauces on the vegetarian menu items were completely free if animal products like fish sauce.

huge selection - Edit
Thai Am 2 has a huge vegan selection. I love the separate menu for vegetarians. The sushi is very good. The servings are large. The fried tofu with peanut sauce is literally an entire brick of tofu fried with peanut sauce. Very good. When I go here I feel like I am going to a vegan restaurant.

Veg Heaven!! - Edit
You must ASK for the vegetarian menu. You'll be overwhelmed with multiple pages of delicious veggie choices! "Thai Hot" is pretty darn hot and wonderful, if you like super hot spiciness.
