Awful really - Edit
Vegan options are basically non-existent at the buffet aside from fruit and some nuts and seeds. Following can be ordered a la carte:

Unfortunately, chefs at Tere Nui have no idea how to prepare tofu, or vegetables apparently…
Tofu scramble arrived barely cooked, watery and unseasoned everyday, and the vegetables were always drenched in oil…
Despite giving them some feedback, the scramble never really improved. In fact, it actually got worse over the course of our stay as chefs seem to have changed.
With regard to vegetables, I have never come across a hotel that is unable to prepare a simple stir-fry veggies for breakfast. The main issue was that they drenched them in oil, even when asked to use no oil. Once we received very small chopped up pieces of vegetables (tiny cubes of onion and paprika mostly) that they usually put into omelettes... 🤦♀️
The only breakfast dish we enjoyed was the coconut açaí bowl. It always looked fresh and tasted good.
The presentation of the buffet in general was very underwhelming. For example, the fresh coconuts were covered in a cloud of fruit flies, the fruit was served rather unappetizingly in large bowls and in many cases did not look fresh, etc. Non vegan dishes also didn’t look particularly appetizing (very oily).
I think the kitchen of Tere Nui also supplies in-room dining service which was awful too. The only edible dish from the room service menu was the gazpacho.

Thank you for the review. Did you go to any of the other hotels and find out if they have better food? Really disappointing for a 5 star hotel!

Sadly, I think the FS is as good as it gets 🥲. The Vaimiti at FS was quite ok considering the location. We also tried the Conrad which was really really awful. Wouldn’t recommend.
