CLOSED??? - Edit
Just got here at 13:26 and online and on this site it says it’s open, but upon arrival, it was shuttered. It is very far from central Tel Aviv and it cost me a lot of taxi fare. Not nice.

Interesting, different, tasty, 100% vegan - Edit
I have never eaten ethiopian before, it was great! Lots of different, new, interesting flavours. The cook and server (it was a one man show) was very likeable and welcoming. If you come here with other people and you don't know ethiopian food I definitely recommend ordering different things so you can share and taste as many things as possible. Taking one starter /special and one main dish per person was enough. Just one main dish could be difficult of you are hungry.
Read moreIt's great that it is 100% vegan, so you don't have to look closely and just choose what you wish. Prices are normal for tel aviv I think.
Only negative thing is there weren't many people and it's at a big street so the atmosphere is not that cozy.
Pros: Interesting, 100% vegan and tasty, Nice staff
Cons: Atmosphere a bit empty , Atmosphere street

Authentic and tasty 👌🏽 - Edit
Extremely friendly service!!
Read morePay attention to opening hours cause it may vary (according to the HappyCow, google and fb it had to be open at 11 am, we arrived at 1pm and found the closed door. When we were about to leave all of a sudden the owner appeared and opened the restaurant).
Food is tasty. I’m not a fan of Ethiopian cuisine but it’s an interesting experience to share so once in a while I like to go to Ethiopian restaurant with some friends and order an injera (and say “hmm well still not a fan” lol).
Here injera comes with 5 toppings: peas, lentils, spicy paste (I didn’t get what is it based on), stewed veggies and a fresh salad. Every one of them was flavorful and tasty.
We also got Kita which is pieces of bread baked with olive oil, zaatar and tomato sauce — very simple but really delicious dish.
The place is very clean and cozy, the service, again, extremely friendly. Probably will come back one day to check out the desserts and definitely will go here to show an authentic Ethiopian food to friends who haven’t had it yet.
Pros: 100% vegan , Extremely friendly service, cozy place, Tasty food
Cons: Hours vary

Delicious first time with Ethiopian food - Edit
The food here is delicious and so wholesome. The entrance is quite unassuming but dot. Be fooled, the food is flavoursome and really packs a punch. My waiter was helpful and very kind, recommending his favourite dishes in perfect English - in fact I think he may have been Australian originally. I always finish my food but the portions were so large that I couldn’t manage making it fantastic value for money!!

Great Ethiopian food and friendly staff - Edit
I recommend Kits Fitfit and Ethiopian fava beans. Those were my favorite dishes. Also tried Bayanetu and Ingoodie Tibs, I found them a bit salty for my taste. It’s possible that it’s supposed to be like that. It was my first try at Ethiopian food. Overall a great experience and very friendly staff. I definitely recommend it.

Well prepared food with complex flavors. We got the chance to try the new version of the Kita Fitfit which was made from Teff flour and gluten free. This dish has exceptional texture and flavor! Really, everything was very tasty, but this was my favorite.

A must when in Tel Aviv! - Edit
Was recommended to go to Tenat by one of the other vegan restaurants we visited and boy am I glad we did! The food was bursting with flavour and it was a real delight to try some authentic Ethiopian food! Absolutely delicious! The owners make and serve the food so if the restaurant would have been busier then I can imagine it may take a little longer to receive your food. The staff are so friendly and are happy to explain the dishes to those who haven’t experienced this type of cuisine before. Will definitely be back next time I’m visiting Tel Aviv!

Great food and different - Edit
Having never experienced Ethiopian cuisine, I did not know what to expect from Tenat, but after eating at this restaurant I am sold. Tenat is small family-operated sort of place that feels very authentic. The menu offers a choice of 3 starters, 3 main dishes, and 3 desserts. We ordered the Kita fitfit and Addis salata as starters and both were great. The Kita fitfit is sauted squares of Ethiopian bread in a vegan butter and garlic sauce - it was really unique and delicious, probably my favorite dish I had. The Addis salata was also really interesting, served with slices of banana. For main dishes we shared the Ingoodie tibs and the bayanetu. Of the two, I recommend the Ingoodie tibs, a folded injera bread covered in a slightly spicy tomato sauce and wild forest mushrooms. I also highly recommend getting a dessert, all of which are interesting and made with teff flour (I had the teff pancakes, which were good and not overly sweet). One of the nicest things about Tenat, besides the good food and friendly service, are the resonable prices. You should definitely give this restaurant a try.

Wonderful place, great food - Edit
The menu here is only in Hebrew, but the friendly server was happy to translate.
Read moreIt all sounded good. I chose a mushroom dish with tahini and spicy tomato sauce, served over injera bread. This was a fantastic choice! I wonder if the other items are as good.
The fresh squeezed orange juice was also good.
For dessert I got a pudding with hazelnut, chocolate, and maple syrup. This alone would have made my trip it Israel way worthwhile. The ginger-lemon-cardamom-clove tea went along with the pudding very nicely.
Throughout my meal, a family had a lively conversation across the way, while really good Ethiopian jazz fusion music played (quietly) in the background.
I really like this place!
