Excellent vegan options in the heart of Fortitude Valley

We went to Tatsu on a Tuesday night and were excited to discover they do vegan Tuesday, where selected vegan dishes are 30% off. They also have an entirely separate vegan menu with loads of nice choices. We tried a soba noodle stirfry, croquette curry & gyoza and were happy with everything. The service was particularly great.

Pros: Vegan Tuesday, Reasonably priced, Great location

Tatsu Ramen Gyoza Bar

Located in the China town mall in Fortitude Valley. Can get busy, best to book ahead.
I had the vegan katsu curry with mock meat and the vegan agedashi tofu and they were both awesome. Best katsu curry I have had in a long time. There is vegan ramen made on vegan broth! Serves imported Japanese alcoholic beverages. I will be back!

Pros: Vegan items clearly listed on the menu, Super tasty vegan dishes

Cons: A little pricey

Teriyaki Tofu Box

This was soo good! I got UBEReats from Tatsu to my hotel room and it was very delicious. So much food, but also the perfect amount. Big fan, definitely would eat again x

Good vegan options

There were plenty of vegan options. The Bento Box was great with the fried gyoza being a standout.

Oishii!

The eggplant dengaku, shoyu ramen and vege croquette bao, all vegan, all delicious. Always a great atmosphere, friendly staff. The vegan-friendly Broome Brewery alcoholic ginger beer goes down easily too!

Pros: Lots of vegan, labelled on menu, friendly staff, , Great atmosphere

Teriyaki Tofu Box - not bad

I had their Teriyaki Tofu Box. Not bad but a little too salty for me.
The vegetable gyoza in the box is the best out of everything in it.
So I might go back and order vegetable gyoza meal next time.

Pros: Yummy gyoza

Cons: Price, Food is a little too salty

Ramen!

The shoyu ramen here is one of my favourites in my area right now. They have recently changed their vegan options for the better so definitely worth going back! I love the broth, and tasty ingredients. The udon stir fry is also very nice, a good variety of vegetables!

Decent vegan ramen- yet to try the gyozas

I have to disagree with the previous two reviews. The ramen from here isn’t bad and it is filling the void of what I Like ramen left behind. I did find the texture of the tofu to be strange but apart from that it was nice. The noodles were good and the broth was simple but enjoyable.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Texture of tofu was weird

Bland ramen

The vegan ramen was extremely boring and disappointing😒

Bland and expensive for what you get

Was very excited to give their vegan Ramen a go. It was pretty much a big bowl of Maggi two minute noodles with some grated carrot and quite unappealing tofu on top. Maggi noodle flavouring would have more flavour though.

Two stars because they have plum wine and despite the cost per glass it was the only thing their that reminded me of Japan (plus I absolutely love plum wine).
