Easily accessible but food a little bland

The minds behind the Vegan Heaven restaurants, this place is vegetarian with vegan options. They are scoring a bit lower in my book and the main reason is because they fail to serve spicy food... in Thailand! This despite me requesting a spicy curry; when asked my preference. (Why bother asking??)

Plus points for being cosier than the newbies that have a somewhat sterile interior. The location is also good, as it is close of Thapae Gate and the Sunday Walking Street Market.

Pros: Good location

a lot of fake meat

This place serves ok food, some dishes are better than others. The salads are a little uninspiring for a vegetarian place.

I think if they worked on some more interesting and healthier sauces and dressings it would be a big improvement.

A lot of fried foods and fake meats are available on the menu.

Be aware that most of these vegetarian and vegan dishes are available at regular restaurants all over Chiang Mai and may be more delicious.

The coconut shake is good.

Très bon

Très bon, beaucoup de choix. Le service est plutôt rapide et les gens travaillant là-bas sont très aimables.

Amazing

They offer you definitely a huge variety of different vegan dishes and we had like four of them which all tasted that yummy! The staff is friendly.

Great veggie breakfast

This is a favorite in Chiang Mai for a farang style veggie breakfast. With lovely veggie bacon, nice hash browns, tempeh, and with mushrooms, tomatoes and baked beans options. With set options or you can build your own.

Sometimes in Thailand the veggie breakfasts are just eggs and toast so this is a nice alternative done well.

I'm updating this to say they had a super tasty chicken veg steak with a pepper sauce and mashed potatoes that was amazing too!

Drinks are good!

Pros: excellent european style veggie break fast, veggie bacon, veggie chicken steak

Cons: could use better seating

everything was good

We ordered a lot of different dishes because we were a group and I had the chance to taste everything. Every single dish was good. The portions are generous and the food is tasty. The plates are well decorated with vegetables on the side. Also, the service was very good and the staff is friendly, I recommend the pumpkin curry with sticky rice, but seriously everything was good.

Pros: tasty and healthy food, good service, generous portion

try the coliflower " chicken wings " and the mushroom satay

We get a few appetizers here and all of them were ok but especially the coliflower chicken wings and the mushrooms satay. I don't recommend the "money bags " but you can take the risk and try them. The hummus and salad wrap was ok but please put more hummus the next time.

okay but not overwhelming

This place lacks a bit of atmosphere... my curry was very good but unfortunately they use a lot of this processed soy “fake meat” and the sticky rice portion was the tiniest I’ve ever had.

Cons: They serve the drinks with plastic straws

Extensive menu, but all dishes not great

We ate here several times during our stay in Chiang Mai, and our favourites were the vegan chicken burger and the papaya salad. Many vegan options on the menu and friendly staff. Unfortunately we didn't like many of the thai dishes. The pad thai tasted like ketchup and the paneng curry was very oily... But I really recommend the place, you just have to find your own favourite dishes!

Pros: Many vegan options, Good prices

Cons: Some dishes not authentic tasting

Amazing food! Vegan red curry duck is an experience!

Really good food! Good service and really friendly staff 😄
Had lunch which was super nice! Vegan fried chicken wraps, cauliflower wings and more! Super tasty and good portions! Went back for dinner and tried the vegan Duck red curry which was the bomb! Super good taste and perfect spicy I took mild one. Samosas and pineapple fried rice also awesome ( friend tried) super happy to have eaten there! I'll be back 😃

Pros: A lot of vegan options otherwise it's egg and chee

Great Vegan Food!

We had been to Vegan Heaven and came here for dinner one night. We ordered the spicy cauliflower wings, fried chicken, pad see ew, pad Thai, and vegan Khao Soi! We were very happy with all of the dishes and the service was also great! Will probably come back on this trip!

Pros: Most dishes have vegan option, good service

Heaven indeed

Me and my husband had money bags and pita with hummus for appetisers, pad sew ew for main and brownie and vegan ice cream for dessert. Aappetisers and desserts were excellent and main was not to our taste, but we were not so familiar with the dish anyway. Service was great, very welcoming. Will definitely go again!

the best food ever!

I am already planning my next visit. The food and green juice were shockingly good. I don’t get how they can make fresh rolls and salads so flavorful! I am blown away and can’t wait to try more of their extensive menu. Yum!

Pros: everything, food, service, location

Cons: nada

excited for vegan place, but bad tasting food

Ordered 6 things, 4 tasted very off/bad to the point where I signed up for happy cow to make this review. Pineapple fried rice spiced completely terribly and rice not fried. Just tastes bad overall.

Pros: lots of selection, vegan friendly

Cons: food tastes bad

comfortable and decent food

Great option in Chiang mai! Food came out quickly and there was a great range. Everything is reasonably priced and the vegan chicken burger I had had was satisfying! Nice to have so many options. Staff were also friendly and helpful!

Awesome food and super cheap

Amazing portions, delicious food. Everything is vegan (can add egg). Food is cheap but high quality and tastes amazing. Staff waits next to you while you look through the menu which is annoying, and trying to ask them things they don't always understand. Like if you ask for gluten free soy sauce. The owner said the kitchen has it but staff isn't really informed. They do take away. Ate there several times, would recommend. But wish they improved staff a little bit.

Cons: Un pelin carete

Average

We tried lot of different vegetarian/vegan restaurant during our 5 days in Chiang Mai. This one was my least favourite of them all. My Kao Soi was very greasy. 60% of the content in my ball were the fried noodles which made greasy the rest of the tasty sauce and a bit of egg noodles glued together. My husband had a Northern style curry and it was just average, not really spiced much. We tasted just ginger flavour, no herbs or spices.

!!! We only judge based on 2 dishes = so not very objective review. But we got really amazed and pleased by other places in Chiang Mai... Sorry.

The staff is very nice and friendly.

Super local and amazing

This place is on the same road as my hostel so i thought I would give it a go despite not being completely vegan. There were definitely a lot of vegan options; I had the spicy cauliflower bites and the fresh spring rolls. The sauces were the stars of the show for both of them - they tasted beautiful!! I will probably visit the "vegan heaven" branches too but I dont see how they can be much different. Super cheap too!

Pros: Massive selection, Lots of vegan options, Realistic substitutes

Cons: Staff have little english, Not all vegan, Air con has little effect

Had a great experience

Very friendly staff. Delicious Khao Soi! You have to try it! Too bad they don't have a full vegan menu, but I definitely felt there were enough vegan options:)

good for "vegetarians", average for vegans

considering there are 2 different Vegan Heaven restaurants within walking distance from this place, as a vegan, there is no need to ever eat here, all you're doing is limiting your options.
vegan heaven 1 & 2 have almost the exact same menu (both design and menu items), but instead of the dishes being vegetarian and only some vegan... they are all vegan!
plus vegan heaven 1 has way more seating, and both 1 and 2 have friendlier staff, in my experience (3 months living in chiang mai).

Pros: good for "vegetarians" i guess

Cons: vegan heaven is almost the exact same, just better
