Would have been 4 stars because the portions were large, burrito was flavorful, and there was many options. However I tasted something in one of the bites and pulled out a chunk of meat. I doubt it was intentional because it was just one piece but it really disgusted me.
My Veggie Burrito tour of the Mission continues. I checked out Taqueria Vallarta recently. I was delighted to find seven vegetarian veggie burritos on the menu which is perfect for a vegan or vegetarian.
They are reasonably priced. Vegans can easily omit the cheese and sour cream. Vegans can add avocado. Chips are complimentary & comes with tasty salsa.
I decided to go w/ the Manhattan Veggie Burrito. I don't know why it is called Manhattan & perhaps I ordered it because I was born in Manhattan.
In any case the Manhattan Veggie Burrito comes w/ Carrots, Red Peppers, Broccoli, Yellow Zucchini, Green Zucchini, & Cauliflower. I chose a Whole Wheat Tortilla. Know that it comes w/ rice, beans, hot salsa, cilantro, & onions. For an extra dollar had avocado added to it.
It was a hearty & flavorful burrito. I like that the burritos here feature lots of veggies perfect for those following a plant based lifestyle. I like this place & can see myself returning in the future as look forward to trying the other vegetarian burritos on offer.

Pros: Seven Veggie Burritos on offer, Whole Wheat Tortilla, Many of the veggie burritos have lots of veggies!
Cons: No brown rice, Not a 100 percent vegan or vegetarian restaurant
