Serves meat, vegan options available. Mexican restaurant with a dedicated vegan menu that includes burritos, a plate, tortas, and tacos. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-8:00pm.
Vegan items advertised with two beans, no beans given - Edit
This restaurants behavior is discriminatory. On multiple occasions I've ordered several vegan burritos only to arrive home with rice and salsa burritos - absolutely no beans were included despite the description. The staff laughs at you when you pick up the food, so it's deliberate.
Vegan super burrito is really huge, and the price is super reasonable for the area. It hit the spot with a ton of refried beans, lettuce and tomato, guacamole, Spanish rice.
My husband liked the chips and guacamole ; personally I wouldn’t order the chips next time bc I thought they weren’t that fresh
This place gives the smallest portion I have ever gotten in a Mexican restaurant. Seriously Taco Bell gives bigger portions for the price. I would never come here again and would recommend other restaurants in the area. Taste is also not that good. Too salty food.
I’ve been longing to find a vegan friendly burrito place that didn’t involve 45 mins drive, this seems to be it! It’s the kind of traditional Mexican place that I would have been wary of in the past because of the likelihood of meat contamination, chicken stock in the rice, etc but TLC seems to “get” vegans and there was no sign of bits of ground beef sticking to the tortilla. I was very happy!
The super burrito for about $8 was good, a little basic - rice and beans with added avocado definitely needed the bag of chips which costs extra - but it hit the spot and I’ll be back soon! Some outdoor covered seating makes for a pleasant lunch. Their plates (with meat) look amazing (apart from the meat of course), I will try to get a vegan plate if they offer it next time. This is a good choice to go if you are vegan with a meat eater who wants Mexican. They have a small parking lot, and there is paid street parking.
They do serve a lot of meat, to be sure, but props to the dedicated vegan menu. Staff is knowledgeable and food is super consistent, as far as burritos go.
If you go inside to order, as opposed to ordering online, they have extra vegan offerings. High recommend!
Wanted to add to my review — this La Cumbre location is their second. Their first is in the Mission on Valencia.
It is said that this business is the first to create the “Mission Burrito.”
We continue to enjoy coming here. Parking and transit are super easy. Staff are friendly. Vegan choices are strong, and the staff know about them (which seems to be rare outside of a small handful in the city).
