Yogi Bowl is top notch! - Edit
Vegan pesto melt was unavailable, so we got the vegan mushroom pizza and the yogi bowl. The pizza was very yummy but the bowl was amazing! Something about the sauce/dressing just blended with the veggies so well. Would have loved to add you if it wasn't $5 extra.

Yogi bowl is garlicky heaven - Edit
The Yogi bowl with tofu is a bit pricey but worth it. The garlic cream is amazing on the veggies, chickpeas, and rice, all spiced well together. Maybe my favorite bowl in Michigan so far. Had with a local cherry soda.

My husband and I have eaten here several times and it’s always been great! We’ve had the mushroom onion pizza, grilled cheese, tater tots, and now recently had the Yogi Bowl and side order of herb potatoes. So delicious!! Always very friendly helpful staff too!

Everything I’ve tried is delicious. I love that they change up the ingredients seasonally. It’s hard for me to not order the Yogi Bowl every time, but I adore that they have multiple vegan options. The atmosphere and decor are great too.

Delicious and Quick! - Edit
Vegan options are clearly marked. I had the yogi bowl with tofu, absolutely delicious! The two sauces in the dish added a beautiful depth of flavor. The snap peas were the perfect crunch and the tofu was better seasoned than I find at many vegan restaurants.

Excellent Meal - Edit
Taproot is a really nice place, especially if you can sit outside on a warm summer evening. The food was delicious and our server was friendly and helpful. Hubby and I got the hummus starter (housemade and delicious) with pita (thin and beautifully seasoned) and veggies. We also shared the beet salad (nicely done) and green tofu curry (perfectly cooked, crisp-tender veggies and nicely seasoned tofu in a light coconut sauce). The menu has clear notes on which items are vegan. Finally, I like how you can build your own cider flight at $3/glass. That way you can get as many or few as you want.

A Must in Traverse City - Edit
Seriously amazing food. One of our favorite meals on our Northern Michigan road trip. Veggie-forward, flavorful, fresh, delicious - they definitely cater to vegans here. The ciders were super yummy too!
Read moreThe ‘Toumraider’ pizza with vegan cheese was one of the best vegan pizzas I’ve had in my life! That ‘Toum’ (garlic sauce) is house made and it’s sooo good. I found myself double-checking if it was really vegan.. in a good way haha. They were out of the Green Curry Bowl so we got the Yogi Bowl with added grilled tofu. It was excellent - that tofu was sooo flavorful. The waitress told us it’s marinated in their cider and toum sauce. The herbed potatoes with vegan aioli were a winner as well.
Get there early!! It gets crowded - there was a 45 minute wait for us at 7:15pm on a Monday night.
Pros: Open on Mondays when many other places are closed
Cons: It gets crowded, longer wait times

Great vegan options - Edit
Menu has several clearly marked vegan (V) and vegetarian (Veg) options, including vegan cheese options and a daily soup special that is vegan and gluten free. Food is delicious and filling and feels healthy with lots of vegetables featured. Service was excellent and friendly. I had the soup of the day (corn and potato chowder) and taproot salad (without feta) and my partner had the veg sloppy joe. We also had apple donuts and hot cider, which were amazing on a slightly chilly afternoon. We left very satisfied. Highly recommended!

Delicious meal I had - Edit
The vibes were good with a great outdoor view of the lake. I tried the roasted cauliflower and mushroom taco and 🤤🤤🤤 it put me in a daze it tasted so good. I ordered a second one after I ate the first. I also tried the vegan Taproot Tachos. A bit too much vegan cheese for me to eat at once but it still tasted pretty good.

Several vegan options including vegan ‘cheeses’ for mozzarella sticks, pizza & grilled cheese (with spinach, jalapeños and onions). Unique appetizer of roasted snap peas and carrots (sadly peanut sauce has honey).

Great vegan options - Edit
A great variety of vegan options! I posted a pic of their full menu, but we got the Taproot Tachos which my family ate so fast I didn’t get a chance to take a pic! It was tator tots with vegan cream cheese, cilantro, scallions, cherry tomatoes, and pickled jalapeño. They have two vegan bowls I had a hard time deciding between; the Yogi Bowl, and Moroccan Cauliflower. My husband got the vegan grilled cheese which was vegan smoked Gouda with tomato aioli, power seeds, pickles jalapeño, kale, & red onion; it was SO GOOD! My 10 year old got a kids vegan grilled cheese and my 8 year old got the kids menu buttered (it was vegan butter) noodles with the addition of grilled tofu. Service and atmosphere was amazing too! Outside seating is pet friendly so we had our dog with us for a great family lunch!

I took the advice of other reviewers and got the grilled cheese sandwich. It was good! I haven’t eaten many sandwiches since going vegan but it definitely hit the spot. Decent portion size, too. The server was very friendly and offered to help with any questions related to their menu and vegan offerings. I would come back if I’m in TC again.

Peas and Carrots, Please! - Edit
What can I say? We ate there twice during our weekend visit. The menu has many options. The peas and carrots app (with peanut sauce!), falafel tots and watermelon with cashew yogurt was bomb. The vegan grilled cheese was packed with flavor, not a grease bomb and delicious. I added grilled tofu to it, and it was the stuff of food fantasies. The décor is really cute. The patio is spacious and dog-friendly.
