The moment we sat down, the waitress approached us without so much as a “Hello” or “Welcome.” Instead, her first words were a curt, “We don’t do sharing here. This is a real restaurant, not a bar.” Right from the start, the atmosphere felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Being preemptively warned not to share, without any indication that we intended to, felt not only unnecessary but rude.
Read moreSadly, the food did nothing to redeem the awkward beginning. The dish we ordered was bland and uninspired. The falafel was lacking flavour, aswell as the potatoes, even the various toppings failed to deliver any real flavor. The entire meal was underwhelming, and the service was a disappointment.
If you’re considering Tapatat, I would recommend looking elsewhere. The uncomfortable service and mediocre food simply aren’t worth the visit.

Great food BUT the service was mediocre. They have two vegan option (one with a sort of kebab, one with falafel), I tried the kebab one and it was good but a bit expensive regarding the quantities (16€ for one potato with toppings). Beyond the food the rest of the place was not welcoming ; the service was really slow, half a page of the menu is dedicated to "rules" (no payment by card under 20€, no split payment with friends, no free water, etc.), they don't serve wraps (the cheaper option) during the weekend, it's not specified on the menu the quantity of water you get for 3€ (we later found out it was for a really small bottle of water, etc.

Cool cafe with great staff - Edit
We loved the little cafe. Brilliant helpful staff, one veggie special pizza and choices for veggies and vegans. Helped us out when it poured outside! Fantastic taste & fab coffee ! Maybe frites or a few Christ’s on the side would’ve been nice but overall a great find in a pricey City.

Simple but delicious - Edit
I randomly decided to get lunch here after seeing two vegan options on the menu. You can choose between the jacket potato, a salad, or a wrap. I had the vegan jacket potato ‘La Yéménite’ and it was so tasty! I forgot how delicious a simple jacket potato can be. The toppings were so good too, they tasted very fresh. Would love to see even more vegan options in the future 🫶

Somehow looking very plain from the outside I didn't really think much of this small restaurant.
Read moreThis first impression though proofed to be completely wrong and I'm glad my husband decided to try their falafel meal.
Everything in this meal is perfectly aligned and the spices had been greatly balanced. The size of the portion is also very sufficient and my husband even shared some of this deliciousness with me.
The service had been great as well and while sittig outside, you could watch the hustle and bustle of the downwards street next to you.

Essentially two vegan options (and a few further vegetarian ones) - falafel or vegan kebab - which you can choose to have in different forms (jacket potato, salad, wrap). Pretty tasty and a nice choice for lunch.

Best restaurant I ate at in Brussels. Their patatoes were excellent, so tasty and yummy. They’ve got a lot of veggies and vegan options. The portions are good. The staff is really nice. I definitely give them 5 stars.

I have been there for several times and eaten through the whole vegan section of their menu. The potato can be swapped to a sweet potato which improves the nutritional profiles of the meals.

Vu mon emploi de temps chargé, je suis parfois obligée faute de temps, de prendre de la nourriture à l'extérieur. J'ai donc décidé de tester cet établissement. J'ai pris le vegan kebap et on m'a confectionné une mousse choco à la patate douce. Les deux étaient succulents. Mélange de textures et de saveurs. Portion généreuse. Mêmes mes amis omni étaient épatés du goût du kebap. Je le conseille vivement !

Read moreWe were made to feel very welcome as soon as we stepped inside. The staff were all incredibly friendly and it is really cosy.
The menu is available in English and the vegan dishes are clearly labelled (four dishes are vegan or have a vegan option). You can opt for a standard jacket or upgrade to a sweet potato. We tried the seitan dish and the chilli. Both had lots of nice toppings / salad bits (wish I had taken better photos). Both were delicious and very filling.

In Brussels there where not very many places where you could enjoy vegan food on a Saturday evening. During our search we stumbled upon this cozy place, who where not on Happy cow (but are now, after we suggested it for them 😁). We were blown away by their amazing potatoes wedges with a delicious mustard sauce, the outrageous chili and one of the best hummuses we ever tried (and we've tried many!). Top dishes, awesome and friendly service, to find places with surprises like this is the best! Visit!
