Serves meat, vegan options available. Menu marks the vegan options. Offers craft beer. Open Mon-Thu 11:30am-11:00pm, Fri 11:30am-12:00am, Sat 11:00am-12:00am, Sun 11:00am-10:00pm.
Very few options to start with. We got two sides (plaintains and brussel sprouts) and one entree (quinoa salad). The sides were extremely underwhelming; the salad came out with feta cheese on it even though they knew it was a vegan order and we requested without it. I won’t be going back.
This would be a good date night restaurant. Not a ton of vegan options, but the ones they have are delicious. We started with the Bacon & Sweet Corn Guacamole vegan-style, I had the Golden Quinoa "Superfood" Salad, and my bf had the Falafel Burger which isn't listed on the menu but they were able to make. Everything was delicious. They also have great alcoholic beverages if that's up your alley, I had a Frozé (frozen rosé and orange juice).
not very many vegan options which is sad given the proximity to full on vegan places nearby (list below). expensive compared to the former as well. good beer selection. no vegan burger. see photo for vegan sides. ate at the bar to avoid 45min wait at 4:45pm.
Lively hot spot and a bargain at Happy Hour! - Edit
A high-energy island of vegan-friendly cool in an unlikely, quiet neighborhood. Guided there by HappyCow, my spouse and I were pleasantly surprised to find an extremely popular local hotspot. We like a great many of the quiet places HappyCow has led us to, but very few if any have had the youthful energy of Tap 42. To top it off, for happy hour two of the burgers -- one of them a very tasty falafel veggie burger with roasted red pepper tzatziki -- were only $5, and all six vegetarian or vegan side dishes were only $1. We both enjoyed the falafel burger and two of the generously portioned and flavorful sides, sweet potato fries with three sauces on the side and fried brown rice with scallions, ginger, toasted sesame and edamame. Best vegan fried rice I've ever had. The craft draft beers were awesome, too -- for us who are dark beer aficionados, the Southern Tier Choko and the Sierra Nevada Narwhal were out of this world. Besides the outstanding food and drink, it was great fun watching and interacting with the friendly, helpful and very attractive bar staff (we ate at the bar to shortcut the 45-minute wait for a table) and the friendly and amazingly attractive fellow clientele. The music was great, too, although a bit hard to hear at times in the high-energy ambiance. Not the place to go if you want a quiet dinner experience but can hardly be beat if you're in the mood to enjoy an upbeat, friendly crowd. Hours: Mon-Fri, 11:30am-12am, Saturday, 11:00am-12am, Sunday, 11:00am-11pm. Imaginative and tasty-sounding menu items for fish and fowl "vegetarians," too.
Since the below reviews were written, Tap42 has stopped making their veggie burger vegan. Don't get me wrong, it's still a cool place, with a great beer selection, and a menu with vegan options. However, now there are really only a couple items that are vegan, the most filling of which is the quinoa superfoods bowl (without the cheese). The bowl is great and everything, but the days of having a veggie burger and fries while kicking back a couple brews is over at Tap42. Hopefully, they bring it back soon, as there are plenty of other places to get great craft beer in south florida, but not many that offer vegan food...
great casual to upscale casual bar , crazy great beer slection ,also serves mix drinks and such. i had a few awesome and kinda rare beers, vegan lettus wraps, veggie burger and fries( vegan if ordered with out cheese and sause)
just great, felt nice to be able to "feel normal" and just order off the menu, (vegan options are clearly marked)
great service , great food , GREAT beer, must try
great place for a weekend night!
I too tried the veggie burger and I enjoyed it. It has a lentil base and comes on a nicely toasted bun. Now this isn't my first veggie burger, I've sampled from close to 50 other bar/restaurants throughout the usa. This burger held it's own!
Go on Monday nights where they drop the price of the burger from $12 to $5 fries included.
And remember, never trust a person who's favorite adjective is "cute".
Hands down the worst veggie burger I've ever had. Very expensive, but inedible. I actually threw it away. Cute bar though, with may beer options. It is very busy and mostly an after-work professional crowd. Cute to go drink, but I wouldn't eat there.
Tap 42 is one of the best places to hang out in Fort Lauderdale. It's a definite must-visit whenever you come to town. They offer a great beer selection featuring many local breweries. There are a few vegan options and a few more vegetarian ones. The Power Pack bowl is my personal favorite.
