A 100% vegetarian/vegan Chinese takeaway place. Has plenty of vegan options on the menu and will also make other dishes vegan upon request. Previously named Super Star. Open Fri-Sun 17:00-22:00.
I’ve had a few meals from here- slowly working my way through the menu!! Each meal has been delicious- would recommend- even my non vegan friends have loved the food
Been coming to Tangastic (Superstar) for years now - it really is as good as the reviews say it is! Staff are always friendly, patient and willing to answer any questions about the menu. I always recommend this place when friends/family show an interest in trying plant-based.
Was in the area for one night, spotted this place in this app. Was a bit confusing trying to find them online so just drove to the address given. However it was worth the risk and the food was great. Quick service, great price and huge selection.
We ordered the Mixed Platter, King Prawn Fried Rice and the Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls. Just enough for two of us and under £20. Sign still says Tang Tastic but menu says Super Star.
Recently moved to Gloucestershire and everyone in my local VG Facebook group has been raving about this place.
I can easily say this was the best vegan Chinese I've ever had. We ordered:
Mixed Platter: Seaweed and prawn toast were the standouts from this. The satay skewers were also lovely, and the wontons and spring rolls were nice, but not as good as the other bits.
Sweet and sour chicken balls: Oh my word. These were glorious. Even after the drive back to Stroud, they were lovely and crispy. Very like the real thing.
Vegan king prawn rice: Lots of fake prawns, really well cooked. Could definitely have eaten more of this between us.
Special crispy noodles in black bean sauce: These were nice, but confusing. The sauce and veggies came in a tub, and the noodles were in a block? You then had to mix these together. I was sceptical, but they turned out well even if they were a bit of a faff.
Crispy chilli vegan beef: Flipping heck, this was good. Well sauced and crispy.
This looks like a house from the outside as it is Take-out only but the food is so yummy! It really hits the spot if you’re after a great quality chinese take away. I love the veganised versions of many classic favourites such as sweet and sour chicken balls. Really unique in its offerings.
This is one of our favourite take aways! We absolutely love this place, the staff are friendly and the food is absolutely delicious! Would 100% recommend!
I really recommend this place, loads of vegan options! Food is cooked fresh. Very friendly staff. They don’t have a card machine so remember to bring cash!
They recently changed their name to Super Star and added some yummy new stuff to the menu. My favourite place for vegan food when I'm in Gloucestershire!
We tried out this family-owned vegan/vegetarian take-away a few weeks ago and would recommend this to any vegan, vegetarian or meat eater - there is a wide range of tofu, mock meat and vegetable dishes. The service was warm and friendly and the owner couldn't have been more helpful in explaining the dishes and making recommendations. We will definitely be back!
I tried Tangtastic for the first time on Friday night. The lady who took our order was very helpful, and let us know which dishes were vegan. For all the Quorn options on the menu, the Quorn could be substituted for a very tasty vegan chicken alternative. There was a great mixed platter of starters with sesame toast, wontons, seaweed, spring rolls and satay sticks. We also had curry, rice, noodles, crispy tofu and a vegan chicken dish, all delicious. I'll definitely be going there again next time I'm in Gloucestershire!

Vegan friendly Chinese takeaway! All vegetarian :) - Edit
Tangtastic staff are really friendly and helpful and can make almost anything on their menu vegan for you (except omelettes of course).
Read moreI would highly recommend the chicken chow men, satay skewers and crispy chilli beef.
They also do a vegan version of sweet and sour chicken balls if you have been missing them since turning vegan!
Their menu does include Quorn so I hope that now vegan Quorn has reached the UK they will be making the switch!
Also their food is not nearly as greasy as many other Chinese restaurants I have tried :)
Pros: Vegan friendly, Delicious food, All vegetarian menu
