Another option that’s good for filling up after a day of hiking; items in vegetarian section with an asterisk are vegan at the time of this review. Flavor was average, but the portions are substantial. Restaurant itself was okay, silverware and plates were a bit grimy, so keep an eye out for that.
Read moreStaff was pretty friendly, too. I’d probably go back if I stay in Oakhurst again while visiting Yosemite since I know it’s decent, but other options around town might be better.

Vegan Dishes - Edit
I had the best experience at this restaurant and when I told them we were vegan, they showed us the menu items right away. They have Roti which is similar to vegan naan. Delicious and the vegan Dal with lentils was amazing!

Despite specifying no eggs, cheese, milk, meat, or fish, they pointed to a dish that was entirely made of cheese. It was a frustrating start, but thankfully, another staff member guided me to the vegan options.

We had vegetable Samosas, Okra Masala, Saag Paneer (vegetarian, not vegan) and Naan. Everything was very tasty. Portion sizes where perfect for us. Service was very fast, we waited 10 minutes for the appetizers and 2-3 more minutes for the main dishes.

There are 5 vegan options. The Naan is not vegan but the tandoori roti can be made vegan if requested. The spice level was pretty standard for an American Indian restaurants.

Read moreWe were told that here neither the veg samosas nor the veg pakoras are vegan (which is unusual, but of course we’re glad they told us when asked). So we had the Chana Masala and Dal Tadka, both of which were average in terms of taste and quality (not bad at all, but not wow either).
Service was delivered with a smile, and our take-out order was ready only 10 minutes later than their estimated time.
It would be good for them to add a few more vegan options to the menu (e.g. baingan bhartha and saag dishes without dairy products), and that would help add appeal to the menu for vegans and others who avoid dairy.

This is the best Indian food I have ever experienced - Edit
The staff is friendly and understands what vegan means. The 5 vegan entrees on the menu are clearly labeled. I have been here several times and enjoyed 4 of the 5 vegan options. All are delicious.
