TanDON'T - Edit
Vegan friends, do not waste your time! Really, if not for trying to help a few fellow vegheads I wouldn't waste time on a bad review. I would have appreciated this review to exist 2 months ago, but as Toni Morrison said, "“If there's a review that you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it.”
Read moreLet's start with the small portions, which is what you've paying for (the ambiance is good but I can get ambiance in my bedroom); they don't even give ya much rice (which costs cents per pound). If you ask for more rice, they charge you $5. For a small plate. Of white rice. Well, not just for asking hah — but at that price, asking is all people will do, before they begin gaping. The first time I was here and asked for another bowl of rice, they didn't even tell me they were charging for it; I presumed it was free, like bread at Italian restaurants. Mercy!
To add a second prong to my three-point thesis, the wait staff isn't particularly pleasant or competent (messed up our drink orders, which is just about all they do, except shock customers with the $5 rice cost, on those occasions they happen to mention this!)
Point three: The food may not sit well in your GI tract, if yours is as delicate as mine.
I've been here twice now (N ≠ 1), and never again. The first time I was there, another displeased patron swung by our table to point us toward a better spot in Nashville proper (how common is this? so I was suspicious), and I agreed I had much better, but I ventured out here again a few months later when the place I wanted to try on another visit to Clarksville turned out to be closed (Dae Bak ChopHouse) and man now «I'm» gonna be that advice-giver, except (less weirdly) here on HappyCow (instead of walking up to your table).
Also, the nan _cannot_ be made vegan — I asked.
It's occured to me that any review worth its words should feature a comment on the bathroom situation though, and their bathrooms are good!

Great Indian Food! - Edit
Tandoor has a good number of vegan and vegetarian options. The service was good. I ordered the aloo gobi mutter and it was delicious. And it looked so good it made my non-vegan friend want some!

Vegan section on menu - Edit
The restaurant has a separate vegan section on the menu! And the waiter said the naan is vegan if you just ask for it without the butter they normally top it with. The eggplant dish (bengan bartha) was pretty good, garlic naan was very good. Will have to go back to try the other options!
