田中素食 is located in Keat Hong shopping centre. Serves economic rice and daily specials like lor mee, fishball noodles, lontong and nasi lemak. Some dishes are vegan and others could possibly be made vegan upon request, so please inquire. Hours may vary. Open Tue-Sun 6:00am-8:30pm. Will operate to 8.30pm on Monday if 1st /15th day of lunar month fall under Monday.

Tanaka vegetarian has other good outlet with good food and services. Their boss is also a friendly guy. But the staff here are the worse, in general, especially one of the male staff in his 40s with abit gangster look. He has the worse attitude!
In general, the staff here tend to rush and start preparing before i finish speaking when I made my order, and they mess it up! I ask for no egg and they add it. Then when I clarify that I ordered without the egg and I do not want the egg, that male staff i mentioned earlier actually raise his voice in a loud tone and accuse me that i did not mention it and say i speak too soft!
I also have a second encounter with the same staff, I ordered chicken rice add veg takeaway. That same male staff only take like a few pieces of veg. That add on was 80 cents! When I said it was too less and requested to add more, he raise his voice and insist that there is a lot and it was under the rice and pack it up immediately! When I went home and open it there is nothing under the rice at all except the few pieces of veg on top! That's a rip off!
The above incident happens when the boss is not around. I went there once when the boss is around at the stall and the staffs attitude is totally different. Suddenly i get a fair portion and they actually smile and say "thank you" after my giving me my change at the end! Felt disgusted by them. I will never go to this outlet again. If you somehow at the area and have no other option to eat, I recommend you to go to another vegetarian stall the same market, it is just a escalator up to second floor on the left the auntie there is friendly.
In conclusion, I would like to clarify that my review is only about the staff in this outlet. Tanaka Vegetarian has a few outlets in the west of Singapore that have friendly staff and good food. Occasionally, the boss is around and he is also a friendly person. If you want to try their food, don't go to this outlet they have outlet in Fajar and bukit gombak as well and the staff there have better attitude!
To the boss, if you see this post, go and fix them! Don't let them destroy your reputation!

I went to the stall at 253 CCK n brought 2 packs of 罗汉斋 ($8 each) n request for a small pack of green chilli. The man attending at the counter told me they don’t have small bag for chilli. Unfortunately for him, just in front of the counter, there was a stack of small plastic bag. And this guy told me unless I buy 5 packets of foods, then I am entitled to 1 pack of green chilli. He told this was the boss instruction. I was dumb-folder.
