Serves meat, vegan options available. Indian food menu with various chaat and vegetarian dishes; can remove yogurt from dish. Has tofu. Open Tue-Sun 11:00am-8:00pm.
This food here is always good. Items are clearly marked vegan, but always mention it. Example: the Veg Thali is marked vegan, but comes with a non-vegan gulab jamun dessert unless you ask for the vegan coconut laddoo.
Tamarind has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the area, after finally trying them a few months ago. We have some great Indian places in Hampton Roads but Tamarind really stands out with their varied options. Pretty expansive menu, vegan and GF options clearly labeled. I'm slowly making my way through all of the vegan options, but so far the Gobi Manchurian is my favorite.
I got the chole puri, dabeli and vada pav. Everything was good. Especially liked the chole puri. Even medium spicy was decently spicy so think about your spice tolerance when you order!
Most Indian dishes can be made completely vegan. The owner is very kind and friendly. My husband and I had a fantastic dining experience in this very clean restaurant. Excellent spices and flavors. Also, they serve Dosa and Imported Indian Beer!
Fresh, delicious South Indian cuisine, Indo-Chinese cuisine - Edit
Friendly staff. Delicious Indian food. If you’re not familiar with Indian cuisine, I’d recommend viewing the menu and descriptions on their website, tamarindnorfolk.com before visiting the restaurant. The in-store menu has very few pictures, and limited descriptions.
First off the customer service is great. The guy at the register is always so kind and accommodating to us being vegan.
We love all the vegan dishes as we have tried most, you really cannot go wrong. I would recommend getting a couple different plates to share as they are smaller portions but filling enough
I ordered this from Uber eats so I'm guessing it would be a lot better if I went and sat down to enjoy it hot and fresh. I tried the Aloo Puri and Khamand.
After searching for options close to home I found this great Indian restaurant. There are limited seats, so take away is an option to consider. Very good food. Cooked to order. And the owner is very friendly and flexible to accommodate for spice and vegan preferences.
Cute and cozy family vegan friendly Indian food joint, a short walk from an Indian Supermarket with a large fresh produce section. Low prices and cricket matches on the TV.
