Terrible. Not vegan friendly.

I went to this place for a bachelorette brunch but I would not have gone otherwise. My first problem is that they serve foie gras. It was highly uncomfortable for me to see that on the menu, and I strongly recommend that vegans stay away from this place. I wanted the oatmeal but they stop serving it at 11am which was very disappointing as there are really no other options. I basically just had a salad with seasonal veggies. Very disappointing and VERY upsetting , I almost wanted to speak to the manager to convince them to remove the foie gras.

Cons: Unethical, Expensive , Not vegan-friendly

Don't trust them to make it vegan!

I used to work there and here's why I won't trust them. There was a time when a woman came in and requested a vegan meal. Keep in mind many people here are poorly informed about what being vegan is. When the cooks were working on the dish I told them that it wasn't vegan, they ignored my words and still gave it to a customer. If you eat here request to see the packaging of any ingredients used. Also explicitly tell them not to use meat grease on your food. People think it's still vegan if they only use a little bit of egg or a little bit of grease.

Pros: Good staff

Cons: No vegan options on the standard menu , Custom made vegan meals might not be vegan

Pass on the Vegan Pasta

Neon orange vegan “cheese” tasted of gasoline.

Pros: One vegan option on menu., Service varies by server; some are helpful., They didn’t charge me for the inedible pasta.

Cons: The wrong server can make the meal a loss., Vegan noodles and cheese were inedible

So accommodating!

I almost ordered the vegan pasta ... ALMOST! But my server told me the chef can also whip something up for me since the vegan pasta is quite bland. He did and it was awesome. I had a wonderful experience here!

Highly disappointing

I heard lots of great reviews of the restaurant as a whole when we planned to visit Rapid City. We went there for dinner and as a whole found the place thoroughly disappointing. The food was over priced for what we ordered. I got a pasta that they assured me was vegan but it was simple and rather tasteless and something easily made from home. Buying a red sauce from a store would have been better than what I got. There were not any specific vegan options and the menu was limited already. Although touted as a upper class restaurant the actual options were not worth the visit or time. I would recommend that Happy Cow take it off as a listing as they are not very accommodating and the food is subpar at best. It’s fine if you really don’t want to go anywhere else and want to take the risk- but there are other options worth visiting before trying out this place.

Cons: Expensive , No Vegan Options

High price. Moderate taste.

I had the vegan/ gluten free pasta with vegan cheese and added spiced vegetables.
I found the whole dish bland.
There was only one or two options for vegans on the menu. The prices were way high for the quality and quantity.
Very unimpressed.

I told the server I was vegan and she didn’t seem to care much to cater to my restrictions or offer suggestions on what could be modified.

I would not recommend.
Coffee and juice comes from a machine you would find in a hotel that just spits it out with a push of a button.

They try to be a more height class, casual atmosphere at night but it fell extremely flat.

Don’t waste your time here.

NOT A Vegan Friendly Restaurant

NOT A VEGAN RESTAURANT

I also contacted the app to update this restaurant as not vegan!

According to our waitress, their idea of “vegan options” are veggies, a bowel of fruit, and oatmeal. 🙄 On top of that the waitress that served us was not helpful and had a condescending tone while i was inquiring about menu options. We walked out without eating anything ... shortly after...

Horrible experience.

Pros: the restaurant had a posh modern look to it, which

Cons: expensive for what you are getting , the service is horrible , misleading menu options

Best vegetarian and vegan options in town

Best quality of vegetarian and vegan options in Rapid City. If you don't see what you want on the menu just ask for the vegetarian or vegan option. We have never been disappointed. Also Tally's has an indecision menu where you can get 2,3,4 or 5 course meal. The whole table has to do the indecision but they will customize it for vegans or vegetarians. Depending on how many courses you choose plan on being there a while so order a bottle of wine and relax. The only downside is if one person at the table does the vegan or vegetarian option the entire table has to for the indecision menu.

Great food, but a lot of non-veg food

I'm not an ethical vegetarian, I just don't like meat. I just wanted to warn people that even though Tally's is wonderful and has great food and is very accommodating to vegetarians, they offer a lot of foie gras and veal and other things that vegetarians/animal lovers have a hard time with. I do recommend this place, but I think it is only fair to warn since this is on the Happy Cow site and if you are here looking, you probably want to know what to expect.

Pros: accomodating to veggies, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, delicious, fresh ingredients

Cons: foie gras, veal, almost every menu item contains pork
