Better vegan options in Machico - Edit
Specific vegan section on the menu with 3 options - the vegan burger on a plate, stuffed eggplants and a pasta dish. The vegan plate was very poor - the vegan burger patties where bland and had a grainy texture. The whole plate looked a bit sad and was quite greasy.
Read moreThere are so many better vegan options close by so I would recommend sticking to the other local spots, unless someone in your party wants to try Talhada’s but maybe stear clear of the burgers.
Pros: Specific vegan section on the menu
Cons: Greasy bland vegan plate

Be careful what you order - Edit
Ordered the vegan burger with a side of “Rice & Beans”, which turned out to be served with ham mixed in it.
Read moreThe vegan burger was OK - it had a bit of a weird taste. I’ve had worse. I’ve also had a lot better.
It was nice that specific items on the menu are listed as vegan - stick with those which are explicitly stated as vegan as others which you might assume are vegan might not be.
Pros: Some specific vegan / vegetarian options
Cons: Side dishes not vegetarian

Vegan burger was the only option available - Edit
There is only two vegan options but when we asked for the other one they said they had only the vegan burger one. The burger was ok but nothing especial

Decent vegan meal - Edit
In a town with very few vegan options, it was nice. The burger patty was store bought and without bun and we would not choose it again, but the stuffed eggplant was very nice and if you choose a side dish (salad, potatoes etc) it’s a good meal.
Read morePros: Clearly marked vegan items, Staff knew how to veganize menu items
Cons: Not so cheap, Weird with a bun-less burger
