Authentic flavours

The chefs here are skilled in re-creating authentic Indian/Nepali dishes.

The owner and staff are indeed very welcoming and pleasant which simply adds to the dining experience.

Plenty of vegetarian options, many of which can be adapted to vegan requirements.

Spicy and Nicey

The owner of this restaurant is vegan and very much understands vegan philosophy and dishes. There a few good options for starters and mains, like samosa, chana masala, aloo gobi and biryani. The breads were delicious and freshly made. A very tasty option in a relaxed place.

Good Indian Restaurant

There are plenty of tasty Lacto-vegetarian options available at this nice Indian restaurant in central Nanjing.
Mains are from 40 yuan, a reasonable price for non-Chinese cuisine. The naan bread and samosas are very good. The Nepalese owner and his staff are also very friendly.
However, given that many dishes include milk, butter, and ghee, there are not many options for vegans.

Pros: Many tasty vegetarian options, Friendly staff, Bilingual picture menu

Cons: Few vegan options

Decent place

Decent place if you like Indian food. Quite busy, with a mix of local and expat. Large choice of veg food, though if you are vegan you may have less choice. Prices are reasonable, around 40yuan for a dish. The owner (I think he is from Nepal) is a nice man.

plenty of veg options

The yellow dal, with cumin (jeera) rice, is my favourite so far. Friends have tried other dishes and have been happy with their choices too.

The people who run the place are from Nepal. They're friendly and speak English.

They have another location at 189 Shanghai Lu, which is not as easy to find because it's tucked down an alleyway (off of Shanghai Lu).

Pros: many options, friendly owners

Cons: serves meat
