Fancied some sushi and was staying in a hotel outside the city centre. Loved this place. A full page of vegan options. I didn’t know what most of them were but the reviews and photos here along with descriptions in the rest of the menu helped us make our selection. We had tiny sushi rolls of three varieties, avocado, radish and tofu. We also had some noodles and the breaded mashed pumpkin. Everything was delicious. We hadn’t booked but we’re able to be seated on a wall facing table which suited us fine.

Food was nice - Edit
Food was decent here but unfortunately not all staff all vegan aware. I visited twice and the first time was assured the veg bento box was vegan, only to be told on the next visit it wasn't which was quite disappointing. Therefore anything that is not listed on the vegan menu G would avoid. The food itself was nice and this is a good place to visit if you're a fan of Japanese food and in Limerick.

Lovely restaurant. Food was decent. I got the pumpkin korroke which was good. Also got cucumber and avocado rolls which were yum. The ramen was pretty tasteless

I order from here regularly and the standard is always good. - Edit
I’d love if they had more vegan options but they do have some nice dishes. I get miso soup, gyoza, tofu nigiri (loooove this), Avocado Norimaki and edamame beans.
Read moreI used to get the Yasai Bento but I don’t think it’s great, too much vegetable tempura which I’m not a huge fan of and too little sushi. It’s missing a main element as well, something like a vegetable teriyaki, that would be amazing!
I’ve gotten katsu vegetable curry in other Japanese places but unfortunately not an option here.
I do still love this restaurant!

Hace tiempo no comía un buen sushi vegano, pero aquí superaron mis expectativas, estaba delicioso! Aparte al tener un menú especial vegano es fácil elegir entre las opciones.

Nice rolls - Edit
They have a vegan menu towards the back of the main menu. About 10 different rolls and a selection of startery/side type dishes. We tried about 5 different rolls and some edamame. Rolls were all very tasty and clearly fresh as the tofu filling for one was still warm. Nice but I thought it was very expensive (and I live in London).

Sorry! - Edit
Vegan ramen seems to have only had cabbage in it.. Didn’t taste good either. And it cost almost €12. I felt ripped off paying almost the same as other (meat eating) people who were getting more than me.

Quaint place with amazing food - Edit
We ordered 3 different sushi rolls, ramen, and the vegetable dumplings. We were impressed by all of it. Even our one Omni person loved it there. (He had a steak bento box, but recommends it for any omnis.)

Good for a night out - Edit
This place is good for going out to dinner with friends/family who are not vegan/vegetarian. There was plenty of options for all. The vegan ramen was not particularly flavorful, but the vegan gyoza were good.

Disappointing - Edit
The good thing is they have a separate vegan menu at the back and it has a few options (not too many). However, unlike the main menu, it is just titles with no explanations over what the meals are. Feels like they just threw a vegan menu in the back with no thought or consideration, just because they had to.
Read moreFor lunch, we ordered between the two of us, to share: Pumpkin Korokke (starter), vegan sushi mix, and a noodle dish (cannot recall exact name, but stir-fried udon in a sauce with some veggies and peanuts).
The pumpkin korokke was a battered mash potato with some sweetcorn and carrot mixed in. There was not a hint of pumpkin and it felt like something you would buy frozen in a supermarket and fry at home. Nothing special at all, it was definitely not made fresh from scratch in the kitchen. In fairness, we never brought up with the restaurant that there was no pumpkin in there or did we get the wrong order.
The sushi mix was very pleasant and probably the best part, but nothing exciting.
The noodles were also pleasant, but not great and I am skeptical of the noodles being vegan and not egg udon.
Overall, a very disappointing experience and we spent over 30€ on this lunch (no drinks or desserts). Everything was quite dull and I wasn't impressed with how the vegan menu was presented, as just an afterthought and not as much consideration went into it as the standard menu.
Pros: Vegan menu available
Cons: Vegan menu felt like an afterthought, Quite bland, No value for money

Outstanding! - Edit
We would definitely give 5 stars if the app let us... The food is outstanding! And the fact that they have a whole page listing all the vegan options makes it that much easier to choose. We went there twice and everything we tried was delicious. A huge plus were also the waitresses who were very attentive, friendly and polite and the food was served very quickly. A must try if you visit Limerick! I can especially recommend the pumpkin korokke, the dumplings and the ramen. Simply perfect.

lovely place with Vegan menu - Edit
I was visiting Limerick for work and was craving Japanese as I find it easy to find vegan options. I happened upon Taikichi and was pleasantly surprised to find a vegan menu at the back of their normal menu. I almost whooped with joy right there!
Read moreI go here every time I visit Limerick and just love the food. Everything is freshly made and delicious. I usually have veg sushi, edamame, gyoza and seaweed and cucumber salad.
The decor of the restaurant is great too with a cherry tree 'growing' up one wall!

great food! - Edit
We needed a warm vegan meal after a long day of driving and Taikichi did not disappoint. We had the udon which was full of flavor, re ramen which was very simple and clean-tasting, and the gyoza which was delicious. Would absolutely recommend. The menu was labeled "vegan" and the staff worked with us to explain the meals. One suggestion I have is that they list a short description of the dishes next to the name to help those of us less familiar with traditional Japanese cuisine know what the dishes are. This is helpful bc not every vegan is able to find traditional Japanese made vegan and as a result may be unfamiliar with each dish.
