A godsend for vegans in this area! - Edit
The Lake Tahoe area has never been the easiest place to find vegan food, so when we discovered this sushi bar, we were thrilled! A whole page of vegetarian options, more than half of which were also vegan. The Bahama Mama is my favorite. Great service, too!

Great find - Edit
Full vegetarian menu with lots of creative options. Nice space. Kind staff. Good prices. $5 large hot saki. Food was delicious across the board but the miso soup was the best I’ve ever had. Definitely a new go to spot in North Lake Tahoe for us.

Sushi Mushi Bahama Hooshie - Edit
We ended up getting a few of the hilariously named vegan sushi plates. They happened to be out of mushrooms which was a bummer for us since we love mushroom sushi and it fills a fish/umami flavor role in vegan sushi. I liked that they had a full page of veggie/vegan options. I'm also spoiled with amazing vegan sushi and alternative cheese options and vegan fish. The sushi here was tasty, well prepared, and all around good, but there wasn't vegan cream cheese or any vegan fish to take the vegan options up to the next level.
Read morePros: Full page of veggie/vegan sushi, Service was fast, attentive, and friendly , $5 large warm sake deal was sick
Cons: No vegan cheese or vegan fish sushi, Veggie and vegan options mixed together on menu, On the expensive side

Vegan Sushi! - Edit
Great sushi here! I was so glad to find a place near Carnelian Bay that serves not only vegan options, but sushi! I shared the futo maki, bahama mama, and burning man rolls (without cream cheese) with my partner. The burning man rolls were my favorite, I loved the slight spicy kick to them. The wait wasn't bad (about 30min) considering we just walked up and ordered, and you can also walk by the lake while waiting.

Very average - Edit
Okay so it was wonderful to see a whole page dedicated to Vegetarian/Vegan which made choosing super easy. The rolls were fine (we had Vern Maki and I Dream of Jean) but nothing to rave about. Given the lack of vegan food in Tahoe it is great having this place as an option. We sat out the back on the balcony and had a view of Lake Tahoe which was nice. Parking was available around the book as well.

Great menu. - Edit
We would have tried more offerings but they only had one chef on staff at the time we arrived and meal too over 45 to get. My advice is first check to see if there are two chefs working. The place is small. We ordered an awesome roll (waited at least 30 min) soup and endamame.

Cons: None if you can wait for rolls to be made.

a full page of veggie and vegan sushi rolls! - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi at Tahoe City Sushi. The quality was great, and they had a full page of veggie and vegan roll options as well as a killer miso soup. I tried the Futo roll- it was filled with carrot, avocado, inari (tofu wrapper), and cucumber. Check it out!
