Serves meat, vegan options available. Taco & burrito restaurant. Has a marked vegan burrito on the menu, containing rice, beans, tomatoes, and guacamole. Reported closed September 2024.
Had the eggplant taco and it had very good texture - Baja style taco. The oyster mushroom is good - deep fried but heavier sauced and was sweet.
Note that there is a takeout spot on west Cordova street but at the back there’s an actual sit down bar and restaurant. The back patio is lovely on a nice day.
I had the squash tostada which was really good and filling. My boyfriend had the cauliflower scrapple and the veggie gringa, they were both tasty but we found there wasn't much in them for the price. The vegan options also aren't displayed on the menu.
Lots of vegan options! Had the chips with guacamole, salsa and some tomato cashew dip! Wasn’t overly hungry so had this to share with 2 others and one eggplant taco which you could definitely do 2 of if you were hungry!!!
I have only been to Tacofino once, but I LOVE the food that I ordered. I can't remember exactly what they were called, but there was a veggie tostada(which is like a taco but the shell is hard and flat) and a squash taco? All I remember is that the moment I bit into that veggie log on the taco, I was transported into another dimension! I remember looking at my sister and repeatedly telling her how blown away I was by the excellence in flavours and textures. The only con I would point out is that the prices can be a little steep if you are a more substantial eater. Each taco is about six dollars, but they are fairly small, so I would eat about three or four, IN ADDITION to the starter nachos.
I had a take-out vegan burrito from here recently. It was decent but didn't blow me away; a little heavy on the spice and the rice, but a little scant on the avocado. The service was extremely fast though for take-away; I'd say it's a good option if you need something filling in a hurry. They used some kind of vegan cheese as well (probably Daiya) which was a nice touch.

As in Tofino! - Edit
I was so happy to find this after my first Tacofino in Tofino! They have a secret vegan burrito, just mention that you are vegan! It tastes so good!
