Great Service

South Dakota can be a little tricky of a place for a vegan to find a meal. Not only was I looking for a quick vegan-friendly option, but I truly am lactose-intolerant, & when you’re on a long road trip you can’t afford for a restaurant to accidentally sneak cheese into your burrito. Our cashier was really friendly and made sure the cook staff understood this wasn’t just preference, it was a health issue! I really appreciated her taking an extra step to make sure there was no dairy. And my meal was very tasty. I ordered the bean burrito, no cheese, with guacamole, lettuce, and pico de Gallo. Potato Oles themselves are vegan but be aware they are fried in the same oil everything else is, so for the vegans who worry about cross-contamination, you may want to avoid those.

A Good Place in the middle of nowhere

On our recent road trip across the US, we happened to come across this little town on our way to Mount Rushmore. We were hungry and being vegetarian, it isn't always easy to find something, so we did a quick search on the internet and found that Taco Johns are pretty good to vegetarians, their beans are all meat-free plus they do have lots of vegan/vegetarian options on their menu. Their salsas and guacamole were all very fresh. We were happy to find this place. The service was good too
