Unique concept and glad to have vegan options

I like the concept ... you choose a broth, the veggies, protein and sort of make your own with some seasonings and a hot pot. I also like that they have 2 vegan broth options. I had the spicy miso and thought that it was too spicy for me. Also, after a while the taste sort of was monotonous. Feel like it could be so much better. Definately could have done with more tofu.

Pros: Has vegan options, Unique concept, Friendly staff

Cons: Could be better

Worthwhile Veggie Shabu Shabu

Vegan and plant-based eaters rejoice - this is a spot where we can enjoy a hot pot experience with friends without needing to shelve out $$$ for food that we wouldn't be eating anyway!

I've been on the search for a place that would allow me to socially enjoy hot pot again and have it be worthwhile. Tabu Shabu has an excellent vegetarian option for $17 that gave AMPLE amounts of food and comfort for a cuisine I've loved all my life.

Firstly, love the spacing inside the restaurant. It's bar style with individual seating and hot pots with ample distancing between you the people across. It's as if it was designed for social distancing. The staff are in the middle getting orders, refilling drinks, and checking up on you throughout the experience so you're never alone.

Like I mentioned, the Vegetarian Option was my go-to and it was fantastic. They offer unlimited brown rice, two sets of their veggies which include firm tofu, mushrooms, spinach, bokchoy, carrots, and more, and kelp noodles. All of this goes into your personal pot of dashi - and there are two vegan friendly options: kombu and spicy miso. Both were rich in flavor and the veggies infusing ion the broth made it even better.

I will say that our server's shocked face when my friend and I both ordered the veggie option and no meat, and expressed how delicious and filling everything was.

Pros: Great value for veggie shabu shabu, Individual pricing
