Sweet Tomatoes does an excellent job of labeling their dishes for vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free consumers. If you have specific food allergies (such as dairy or nuts) the staff has a complete binder containing full ingredient lists for every dish.
Read moreThe salad buffet consists of a mix of standards with rotating specials (some for two weeks, some for four weeks) that are advertised in advance on table placards. The salad bar contains plenty of vegan options with two types of beans and tons of fresh veggies. There are also pre-made salads (such as caesar salad or an asian salad) that may or may not be vegetarian or vegan.
The hot buffet is vegetarian friendly but does not have a lot for vegans -- the pasta dishes are all made with cheese -- although the staff will accommodate you by giving you the plain pasta they use as a base. (There is also plain pasta in the salad bar.) If it's off-peak, they will even cook you something vegan combining different base ingredients.
The soup buffet always has at least one vegetarian option, and sometimes more. They may or may not have vegan soups.
The dessert buffet offers fruit or fruit salad in addition to the baked desserts, puddings, and soft-serve ice cream.
Join "Club Veg" and you can get coupons for 20% off or 2-for-1 specials. Seniors get an automatic 10% off, and a special dinner price in the early afternoon.
We love coming here because there is always something new and interesting to try, while the standard offerings ensure that we'll always find something tasty and filling no matter what the specials are. It's a good deal at the regular price, and a great deal with the discounts.
