Amazing!

This is a great new addition to New Orleans. Let them know if it’s your first visit and they’ll explain everything about the food and ordering. I got the blackened cauliflower (my favorite spicy), jambalaya (also great), mac n cheese (good but weirdly sweet), and bread pudding with caramel sauce (other favorite). My meat-loving friend ate his whole plate and said he was impressed! Only con was that the ice cream was too icy for my taste... but there are plenty of other sweet and savory options.

Best Vegan Restaurant in New Orleans

If you're in New Orleans, you need to eat at Sweet Soulfood. Staff was friendly, food was great and portions were huge. Food is served buffet style and options change daily. Everything we had was wonderful.

Pros: Lots of choices, Large portions, Friendly staff

Exactly what a vegan in New Orleans should be eating!

Sooooo frickin good! Honestly, the best meal I had in New Orleans. If you want authentic southern comfort food (without the animal cruelty) this is the place for you. And the price was amazing.

Pros: Huge portions of deliciousness , All vegan , Good price

Cons: Didnt have a po'boy on the menu the day I visited

Yummy soul food!

What a treat! I broke away from a work conference to find vegan food, and this totally hit the spot. BBQ cauliflower was amazing. The greens were tender and full of flavor. And yum, the potatoes! A 3-veg plate is $11.99 and is packed with food. Definitely a must try for travelers to NOLA!

Pros: Lots of items to choose from, Delicious comfort food, Affordable priced

Cons: None

Cafeteria style, simple and delicious

I found out about this place from one amazing waitress who turned out to be also a vegan and who understood my slight frustration - NOLA is the place with the best seafood, but it is not very vegan-friendly.
I was very excited and little nervous to bring my carnivores friends.
And it turned out to be way beyond my expectations. It is a little place, a cafeteria-style restaurant. The menu is changing every day, you can't get bored. I wanted everything. I picked mac&cheese (oh my, way better than regular dairy version, very light), cauliflower (for me it was too spicy, but I am Czech, so...), mushrooms (like by my mama) and rice with some curry creamy sauce (i can't remember). It was all yummy!
Of course, I couldn't resist and got ice cream and again I wanted everything. In the end, I picked chocolate and banana swirl (OMG!!!). Delicious, I would never guess this ice is vegan!

Seating is limited, I understood it is popular take-out, but we were lucky to grab some seats and enjoyed the food and ice cream outside.
My carnivore friends were surprised how vegan food taste like, especially speaking about the mac&cheese and ice cream.

Staff was great, friendly, happy and patient (I really had a hard to pick "only" 4 sides out of so many great options).

Thumbs up for using eco-friend take out containers!

Thank you for this great experience! Another reason to re-visit NOLA.

New Orleans New Restuarant Treasure

The concept of Vegan creole/home cooking is long overdue. I experineced exemplary customer service and a palate party. The (Tues) eggplant lasagna was sooo good. The all vegan sides like collards, sweet potatoes, orka gumbo and jambalaya did not disappoint. I hear the mac'cheese will make you "slap ya Mama" Looking forward to returning again for other delicacies. The menu is different each day Mon-Sat. Dining area is a bit small yet during my visit a seat was readily available. They do have outside dining. Can't wait to try the selections of Vegan ice cream!

Cons: Small dining area

Amazing soul food!

I really enjoyed it, they give you large portion of delicious vegan food for a fair price. I liked the fact that they have a NOLA style vegan food as a tourist I felt like I was experiencing the local food. And a big plus for the ice creams they have a large choice, I took the banana frosting and I loved it, again pretty cheap for an ice cream and really good!

So much flavor

I had Mac n cheese, collard greens, marinated portobellos, jambalaya and bread pudding. With a fresh green juice. The cornbread is lip smacking good.

Great place when you want a little of everything

This place cooks several yummy treats on a sort of buffet line and let's you choose 2 to 4 things. It's easy to take what you want to-go because your food is already put into a styrofoam box. The portion sizes are great, and so is the food. Also has desserts and cornbread.

Pros: lots of options

Cons: not much parking, not a lot of seating area

The food was great and they give you a ton for the money. Lots of favorites I never thought I'd have again after giving up meat. Can't wait to go back.
