Great soul food! - Edit
This was great soul food, just a short trip outside of the French Quarter. The Greens were my favorite part of my dish, incredible. The cornbread stuffing and Bread pudding were also great! The Mac and Cheese and Jambalaya were solid, but definitely didn’t blow me away, and were maybe a bit underwhelming based on my expectations. But all in all, this was very good, and very quick. Highly recommend making your way to Sweet Soulfood.

Great Find! - Edit
My first visit was a pickup order and it was ready in 15 minutes. I tried the collard greens, fried cauliflower, stuffed bell peppers, Mac & cheese, and gumbo. Don’t judge me lol, it was split between two people. Plenty of food for lunch and dinner. Everything was delicious except the gumbo tasted like tomato soup with okra. Hard to enjoy when I’ve had “authentic” gumbo. Definitely a gem for vegan food. When I went in all of the tables were full, so keep that in mind if dining in.

Great food with the kindest people! - Edit
The employees were so friendly and welcoming, and gave huge servings! The Mac and cheese is slightly sweet (maybe sweet potato) and really creamy. The orange cauliflower was delicious and you have to get the bread pudding- incredible! The gumbo was good but a bit salty if you are sensitive to that.

First time - Edit
Coming from Montreal, Canada, I was looking for some good southern food. Sweet soul food was the best food I had during my week long New Orleans trip. Thé Mac and Cheese was crazy good, it was also my first time trying gumbo 10/10. Fried cauliflower was delicious as was the collard greens, they were quite sweet but delicious. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the jambalaya, I had never eaten jambalaya before and it’s basically just a rice dish. Highly recommend this place. Service was very friendly as well.

Incredible food - Edit
We were there on a Friday, so we got two create your own platters with a pasta, cauli wings, and red beans. The sweet heat cauliflower was honestly a religious experience, we’ve never had anything like it. We had the green goodness and strawberry lemonade juices too which were really good. The portions were pretty big and it was a rainy day, otherwise we’d have gotten icecream to take with us as we walked into town - there were 6 or 7 different flavours, and they all looked fab

So good! Must try soul food - Edit
This was our best experience of soul food in Nola. Everything from the buffet was great and even the juices were super fresh and tasty. Just wish they would offer reusable plates for dining in, so much wasted plastic😒

Sweet SoulFood: A Vegan Southern Delight That Leaves a Lasting Impression - Edit
My friends and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sweet SoulFood, a vegan restaurant that left us utterly impressed. I opted for the "pick 3" option, but the food was so incredible that I couldn't resist ordering another "pick 3" to go.
Read moreI ordered the shepherd's pie, greens, and beans and rice. The shepherd's pie quickly became my favorite, followed closely by the perfectly seasoned beans and rice. To accompany these delights, I had a side of cornbread, which, I must say, was the best cornbread I've ever had. To top off this exceptional meal, I indulged in some delectable banana pudding ice cream.
The portion sizes were fair, but if you're like me and want to savor more of their offerings, I'd highly recommend going for the "pick 4" option. Sweet SoulFood truly allows us vegans to enjoy the flavors of southern home cooking.
While there might not be table service, the staff at Sweet SoulFood are some of the sweetest and nicest folks you'll come across. This place not only pleased me but also delighted my non-vegan friends. I wholeheartedly recommend giving Sweet SoulFood a try – it's a culinary experience that will leave you wanting to return for more.
Pros: 100% vegan, Food is reasonable and DELICIOUS , Southern hospitality at its best

Delicious vegan soul food - Edit
Basically sweet soul food is one of the best, inexpensive vegan meals I’ve had. And considering there was a total of 4 vegan food spots (2 being the same brand) in the French quarter area you don’t have much choice.

3.5 stars…keep reading - Edit
The last time I was in New Orleans was earlier this year during Mardi Gras. I attempted to grab lunch before we got on the road but they were sold out early so I missed my opportunity. Fortunately I was able to give them a try this time around.
Read moreI went early this time, about an 1.5 after they opened and the place was steady but not too busy. It reminded me of a vegan Piccadilly or a meat and three for my Nashvillians. Here’s what I ate and my humble opinion on all of it:
Cashew Mac: it was too sweet for my liking so I didn’t end up eating much of it. 2/5
Greens: I’m a girl from the MS delta and I love my greens. These were a mix of collards and cabbage. They were also too sweet and not at all savory or smoky so I didn’t eat these either 2/5
Red Beans & Rice: these were pretty good. Not the best I’ve had but I ate every bite and my wife enjoyed them as well. 3/5
Sweet Heat Cauliflower: these were hands down one of the best items I tried. The cauliflower was perfectly seasoned and fried and the sauce lived up to its name. I’d get these again and again. 5/5
Philly Pasta: I’m somewhat indifferent on this one. It was too sweet, you could tell there was a coconut milk base, but also savory with an underlying seafood flavor. I enjoyed it but we didn’t finish or save it. 3/5
Chickpea Cakes: I wasn’t a fan of these and don’t have to have them again. They tasted fine, just not my thing. Maybe it was the texture. 2.5/5
Bread Pudding: absolutely delicious and fantastic and truly some of the best bread pudding in NOLA, hands down! My wife is a NOLA native and she raved about it. Highly recommend and I can’t wait to have it again. 5/5
All in all, without the cauliflower and bread pudding it would have been a subpar meal but those selections upped the ante and made the experience a lot more enjoyable!
Pros: Affordable , No wait once you order , Lots of options that change based on the day
