Few vegan options - Edit
I used to love this place as a vegetarian but it's not easy for vegans. Their local dishes such as panki (rice pancake in banana leaf) have yogurt in the batter. Most of these items CANNOT be made vegan so do check on yogurt, ghee, butter and paneer in whatever you order. I used to eat panki for the longest time until a well informed server told me it had yogurt that was added for fermentation.😒
Read moreOther snacks such as Idli, Dosa, Bhel Puri, Pani Puri, Sev Puri, Dabeli, Vada Pav are easy to veganise. The Gujarati specialty items cannot be veganised as most contain dairy.
Their seasonal item - Undhiyu - a medley of winter vegetables, beans and root veggies is delicious and a must-try when available. This is made in oil and perfect for vegans. The bedmi roti is also made in oil and can be ordered separately.

One of my favourite comfort food in Mumbai - Edit
Swati snacks has been a staple in Mumbai, serving up the world famous panki chutney, chaat and fusion dishes. Their thalipeet pitla (Maharashtrian dish), falafel (fusion)is my all time favourite. It's nourishing, tasty and fresh. Def try if you visit Mumbai.

Creative Indian Gujarati & fusion vegetarian & vegan food with great service - Edit
Great Indian food, with fusion elements, focusing on the regional cuisine of the state of Guajrat. This is a vegetarian restaurant that caters to vegan and gluten free diets with special menus available at the restaurant. The menu includes unique items that you will not find in most other Indian restaurants & recipes disappearing from the public consciousness. The atmphsphere is casual, but don't let that fool you - this is a gem of a place! The service is fast, professional & great. The restaurant maintains high health & hygience standards.
