Yummy unique sushi and friendly owner - Edit
The sushi the owner serves has some unique flavours, like green tea! It was very delicious. Note though that the place is small and can only fit around 6 people.

Tasty food & top notched service - Edit
It’s very small- 6 seats inside and 2-3 seats outside. The service and food was impeccable. I would visit here frequently if I wasn’t living far.

Absolutely amazing place!
Read moreChef speaks amazing English (y un poquito español😉) and is a funny, friendly guy.
He gave me some good advice about where to visit, and where not to visit, in Osaka.
His vegan options are great and he really understands what that means, and he's willing to listen to your needs.
I ordered the Iki combo where he asked me a few questions about my preferences (natto ok? Spicy ok?) And then made an amazing plate for me.
I also go a special roll with peppers, onions, mango, and some other things (i forgot the name) and he hit it with a blow torch.
If I lived in Osaka i would be here constantly.
Pros: Friendly, Delicious

Incredible tasting sushi and worth a visit just to chat to the owner - Edit
Rare find of veggie sushi that isn’t just cucumber or avo. The chef is super friendly and is passionate about making veggie sushi that tastes great. I got the taster platter where he picked for us and it tasted unreal. Even made natto that tasted great. The menu was really original and loved the matcha roll !

Best decision you’ll make! - Edit
We had such a lovely time at this place - as mentioned, the owner is so nice & cracks a good few jokes. He asked whether I wanted honey, and used seperate equipment for the meat-based sushi he was preparing for other customers.

Owner was very nice. Small 6-seat restaurant where the owner grows his own herbs out front. He spoke excellent English and we had good conversation as he was making our rolls. Good drinks as well!

Extensive Vegan Menu! - Edit
Surprising, vegan sushi is hard to come by in Japan. This place has the best menu I’ve seen of any place in Osaka. We had several veggie rolls (my favorite was the avocado roll), a nabe hot pot, and some great drinks.

Nice little sushi place. - Edit
Nice little sushi restaurant with six seats. The sushi tastes great and the English speaking owner was very nice to us. There were a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, which were clearly marked (and the owner knows about vegan and gluten). The sushi was a bit high priced with about 100¥ per piece, but definitely a recommendation.

Amazing sushi and lovely owner - Edit
Would be 5 stars if happy cow allowed it! A really cute, small restaurant with a very friendly chatty owner. He speaks good English and has a good understanding of veganism - he even knew we didn’t eat honey. There is a vegetarian menu where vegan options are clearly marked. We went for the 3 sushi roll combo and the nabe and sushi combo, both were Y1,100. Everything was delicious and a decent price for the quality. Portion sizes were standard Japanese size but we felt full enough😄

Amazing 😍 - Edit
This place lives up to all the positive reviews! The owner is so welcoming and extremely accommodating to all dietary requirements. I had the set meal with the green tea sushi and the vegan nabe. Both had very unique flavours, and were so delicious! Don't leave Japan without checking this place out 👌🤤. Definitely deserves 5 stars despite not being fully veg.

This is my favorite restaurant I’ve been to in Japan so far, and I’ve been traveling for 3 weeks! It’s not for big groups as there are only 6-7 spots for dining in. But it’s so cozy, especially in the winter. There were a few other Japanese customers who were giving me recommendations for buying Umeshu and asking me questions about living in China, and the chef was translating between us since his English is great and he’s so friendly. Also, the vegan sushi is really yummy and very fairly priced! The chef was really concerned about making something perfect for me, asking if I’m ok with honey and if I like spicy. I highly recommend his nato and avocado roll because his homemade nato is unique and delicious. I hope to go back again before I have to leave Osaka!

Great little spot - Edit
This place was such a gem. The owner was a chef in L.A. and speaks great English and understood vegan perfectly, clarifying with me about certain things like honey. There are so many delicious options, I asked him to choose for me, the green tea avocado rolls were amazing, and the vegan hot pot was so delicious. Every thing is clearly marked. It's a very small spot and the guy chats to you as he's cooking. Such a great find!

Fantastic - Edit
The restaurant is named " Roll sushi" from the outside. It is an intimate venue with a fantastic selection of well labelled vegetarian options that can easily be converted to vegan options. The chef is extremely friendly and a very smiley fellow who made us feel so welcome we went twice. Would highly recommend as we have struggled to find vegetarian restaurants in Osaka compared to other japanese cities.

Brilliant experience - Edit
The owner insists he only speaks a little English but he’s very lovely and full of advice. Be prepared to sit at the bar and chat with him. After seeing it was only a 6 seater I was worried there wouldn’t be space, but we arrived at 6 o clock on a Saturday and it was empty. Food is delicious, and if you don’t know what you want the owner will give you a selection based on your preferences. Reasonably priced.

Late night sushi and drinks! - Edit
Other vegatarian restaurants were closed so I headed here and oh my oh my I was impressed. Great host, great food, great atmosphere. It is an absolutely tiny restaurant, but makes up for its lack of size, with a great big bowl of energy from
Read moreThe tofu sushi in particular was fantastic with great flavour in every bite. I also had the natto, which if I understood correctly was some sort of bean. It was an interesting texture, worth a try but it's as the host put to me "stinky texture" might be off-putting. Otherwise a great late night option for those pining for vegetarian sushi.
Pros: great host, open late night (2am)
Cons: small place so if busy you might not get a seat

Tiny but delicious - Edit
This place was recommended to us by the owner of Base Island Kitchen, and we were so happy we went! It’s very small and super casual, but the owner is absolutely lovely, speaks great English, and will instantly make you feel welcome. Vegan options are clearly marked, and one item with honey is also clearly labeled so it can be avoided. We enjoyed everything we tried!

Great Vegan Suishi - Edit
This is a tiny - and I mean, tiny - sushi restaurant with a friendly English-speaking owner who understands vegans and has a clearly-marked vegan menu. There is quite a selection of choices and everything is good. Definitely recommend!
