Small Portions, No Flavor, Overpriced - Edit
Really pathetic vegan options. Even though we said vegan, they still put fish and eggs on the table. They almost cracked the egg into my soup. Kimchee is cooked in fish sauce. Goto Zzamaro where the servings are double the size and half the price.

Great vegan options - Edit
I tried the tofu soup with vegetable stock and black soybean tofu, as well as the vegetable glass noodles. Both really great! Although I think the vegan tofu soup at BCD is slightly better.
Read moreMany of the banchan were vegan, but make sure to ask which ones. Also ask for no egg with the tofu soup.

Solid place - Edit
I got the veggie soondubu vegan style. It was pretty flavorful. Be sure to specify no egg. I also appreciate that all the sides are vegan (which is not common at Korean tofu places).

Excellent Vegan Sundubu - Edit
Homemade tofu from black soybeans?! I mean... how can you say no to such a marvel?
Read moreThey offer two vegan sundubu options here, although this isn't necessarily marked on the menu: Mushroom and Veggies. I went with the later as it contained a medley of broccoli, squash, and crimini mushrooms in addition to their homemade tofu. The piping hot jigae came out and it was spectacular. Lots of flavor without being too salty and the vegetables really gave it a nice kick. Pair that with their purple brown rice and you are all set.
In terms of the banchan, they offer a variety to snack on while you wait for your main meal. Keep in mind that the kimchi is unfortunately not vegan because they contain fish sauce, but there are a few sides like their seaweed salad and pickled cucumbers that are safe for plant eaters.
We also went an extra step and requested their take-out soy milk for consumption in store. This giant bowl of house soy milk was incredibly refreshing - not too sweet but packed with flavor and nutrients. It was certainly a side I would have again.
Pros: Delicious homemade soymilk, Vegan sunsubu options available
Cons: Vegan items aren't clearly marked

Okay food - Edit
Vegan choices are limited, but available. Food is okay, but not sure if coming back is an option

Love this place! - Edit
Large portions and quality food! One of favourite spots!
Read moreThe tofu is made in-house and the dishes contain so many delicious veggies. Since I started dining here they have now listed vegan options on the menu (rather than just offering upon request) so I hope they expand to offer even more vegan options in future!
