Worth making a detour for

Delicious Indian street food at very reasonable prices. The keema samosas were particularly nice but there wasn’t a thing that wasn’t tasty. We were persuaded to over-order (didn’t take much persuasion to be fair 😄) and took the leftovers home, still tasty the next day!

Pros: Tasty food, Fair prices, Friendly staff

Cons: Bit out of the way (but worth the detour!)

Outstanding, authentic Indian food

Rarely found fully vegan Indian (Punjabi) restaurant, family-run. I'd recommend the thali for sure. They have a few seats for dining in and free on street parking outside.

Simply Wonderful

Absolutely wonderful dinner here! We couldn't decide what to order so went for the sharing plate following by the thaali, which we also shared.

The sharing plate had a great mix of classics with beautiful mango chutney and a mint sauce. All delicious, not overloaded with spice and incredibly, no grease. Not an easy feat when almost everything has to be fried! The home made vegan paneer is a must - you need to order something with this!

The thaali was fabulous. We loved trying all of the curries. These are all unique, definitely focus on rich flavours rather than heavy spice. You feel completely immersed! I can't remember the last time I had such authentic feeling curries. Rice and the flatbreads were cooked perfectly.

Even though we were full, we had to try the puddings! Cheesecake and a mango cupcake. Worth having these even if you've already eaten plenty!

Only a few minutes walk from Beeston train station, this restaurant is absolutely worth taking the time to visit. Great service from a friendly team, light and bright premises and just the best food.

The autumn equinox brought rain and a drop in temperature. We were passing through so ordered a takeaway. The menu is bigger than when we last visited and we loved the addition of the tikka kebab - best we've had, you absolutely need to order it!

Wonderful food

The food was delicious and I was made to feel welcome by all the staff (including Bella the dog). The cassava chips were crunchy and flavoursome, so were the beetroot pakoras.

Thank you 🙏🏿

Superb lunch

First visit to this lovely vegan Indian cafe - and it won’t be the last. Food was so fresh, tasty and inventive - delicious chai and plant-based cookies too. The service was exceptional. Highly recommend for non-vegans too 😋

SuRano

Popped in for lunch whilst in the area, received a warm welcome from the staff including the friendly dog, Bella 🐶 I had the Korma, which had quite a kick to what I’m used to but was tasty. The Thali looked really good and I’ll try this next time I visit. Dog friendly. Plenty of free on street parking.

Delicious

Absolutely delicious flavours. Really helpful owner guided us through the menu and we decided on the Thali so we could try a little of everything. Our ‘planeer’ spring rolls to start were amazing- have never had the dairy version- but liked it so much we bought some planeer to also cook at home. All of the dishes were delicious- served with two types of bread & rice, and a vegan raita. We also had the best masala chai I’ve ever had- again we purchased some for home
A good selection of desserts also available , the sticky toffee and crumble were also gluten free. We chose an Indian dessert which had a lovely delicate flavour and the consistency of fudge
5 stars- recommended 🌱

Friendly and helpful service with delicious food.

While shopping in Nottingham we couldn't pass by popping to Beston to eat at SuRano. Had a late afternoon meal here. I wasn't sure what to order (I can't cope with the heat from chillies) so the owner helped me choose even providing a sample of the sauce to see if it would be ok. We both enjoyed being able to taste all the flavours of our food and really liked the popped bread that came with B's meal.

Pros: Friendly and Helpful, Delicious food, Nice space

Delicious brunch & Masala chai

Every Time we visit Surano the food is spot on and everyone is so friendly and welcoming!
Today we decided to go for Sunday brunch and it was absolutely delicious. The Parathas were filled with a potato mixture so they were very filling and very good value for money and in addition the masala chai Tea was included and was unlimited. #Veganuary

Superb find

We used happy cow to find somewhere to eat as we are not from the area. It’s an unusual location but do not let this put you off. We received a warm welcome as soon as we entered and had the most delicious plant keema samosa and Sunday brunch. The brunch was freshly prepared and is a traditional Punjabi brunch which we have never tried before. Piping hot and served with delicious homemade chutney and yogurt and perfectly complimented by a masala chai tea. Highly recommended and will definitely call again #Veganuary

Pros: Varied menu , Personal service , Option to takeaway

Cons: Not local 🥲

Very tasty Indian food

Taken over the space where feed me fully loaded used to be. It’s a little way out from beeston but plenty of parking if you drive or want to pick up.
Surano’s menu has a great selection of dishes to choose from including vegan paneer.

They prioritise flavour over spice to make the dishes accessible for everyone but will add some chilli if you prefer your food with a kick.

I never remember to take pictures but the food looked as good as it tasted. Will definitely be back.

Delicious and authentic vegan Indian food

I am blessed to have this restaurant in walking distance! I turned vegan 3 years ago, prior to which I was a lover of Indian food - and until SuRano opened I was unable to find any good food locally (Dishoom in London is excellent), with most restaurants cooking their food in ghee making it non vegan.

What I love about SuRano is the authenticity of the dishes; the menu is not massive, but everything on there is great. The staff are super friendly and eagerly explain the provenance of the dishes, most being inspired by recipes passed down from grandparent to parent, so you really get the sense you are eating genuine Indian food, rather than the popularized dishes found on most curry house menus that would never actually be eaten in the country they're supposed to originate from.

There is a good mix of vegetable based dishes alongside faux meat dishes to cater for people who just want to have a more plant based diet yet still enjoy the texture/flavour of meat. All of the meat replacements are home made, and that comes across in the taste. I took my parents who are both carnivores, and tend to turn their noses up at plant based food, and they were blown away.

If you love curry it's a must, vegan or not.

Pros: Delicious, authentic food, Friendly staff, Great for vegans and non vegans alike
