Just meh. - Edit
Hubby and I are visiting NYC for the holidays and stopped here for lunch on a Friday afternoon, right as they opened. We were seated promptly, the waitress explained the specials and fetched our drinks. The menu is quite small. We ordered the vegan version of the Superiority burger and the vegan chili cheese dog that was on special. The burger came with nice thick fries and the chili cheese dog came with chips and a small side of macaroni salad.
Read moreOverall the food was mediocre. The burger and the hot dog were both very mushy and the dog did not taste at all like a hot dog. It filled the void but that was it.
The service was attentive and friendly.
It was also not inexpensive at $80 for a burger, hotdog, one beer and one glass of wine, including tax and service. However this is NYC.
Pros: Great service., good fries
Cons: mushy veggie burger

Very good food! Not all vegan though - Edit
Very good food but not all vegan so have to make sure with staff. The service was a little slow but everyone was very nice. I sat at the bar. A little pricey but it’s to be expected.

Original tastes, local ingredients, but $$$ - Edit
The mochi cake was quite nice, as were the pickled sweet potatoes, but I just have a hard time justifying the portion sizes with the cost. Especially for the signature namesake dish. Fine dining in a diner style establishment.

Nice dinner - Edit
The burger was really good; softer than other vegan burgers and very nice. I was disappointed by the yuba but I liked the bread. Pricey, but a great vibe and setting there!

Pricey - Edit
Why is this food so expensive? I feel like I can make something at home that is cheaper and tastes better. Which is what I will do next time.

It was good, not great - Edit
I came here on a recommendation from a bike tour guide. It was just okay. The sloppy Dave (tofu sloppy Joe) was very salty. I also had the burned broccoli salad, it was good but had a taste I didn’t care for. I don’t think I’d go back. It was too pricey for the meh tasting food. The broccoli and sloppy Dave were almost $30. Glad it was busy but it’s not the quality I’m used to for a vegetarian/vegan spot.

Amazing - Edit
This place is just so good, and the vibe is so fun. There were dishes that I would happily eat every day. The cornbread that comes with the spicy lentils was mind-blowing - the first made me sad to think that it was going to be gone soon. The Sloppy Dave was great, and the peanut butter pie felt like eating a cloud. I didn’t love the burnt broccoli salad, if I’m honest, but the candied cashews that came with it were delish, so it wasn’t all bad.

so so good but pricey - Edit
The new Superiority Burger space is fun and the expanded menu is as tasty as ever. Especially don't sleep on the yuba sandwich! Cocktails and a full bar are now available too if that's your thing.
Read moreReally the only downside is to make a meal of it you kind of need to order a sandwich and a side and it's hard to do that for less than $40, which really kind of pushes it out of the elevated fast food price bracket they pretend to be playing in.

Good! - Edit
Just visited them in their new location. The new location used to be a popular Ukrainian/Polish restaurant so it was fun to be back in the space… quite the same as when it was Odessa. I applaud anyone who opens a restaurant, especially a vegetarian restaurant… BUT… i just think of you are going to be a “burger joint” then the burgers should “kill” and not murmur…

Tasty and unique veggie burgers - Edit
Great veggie burgers that aren’t just impossible/beyond meat. I love this place. The burgers are on the smaller side FYI so you might want to get more than 1 or get a side too.

Very Good - Edit
Very tasty food and not overly expensive. I love the fact that everything is super fresh as well and rotates with seasonal veg. Would love to see a menu online as well as an option to order ahead too because the line *can* get very long.

Tiny - Edit
This place is tiny. Although there are 3 to 4 seats, they’re mainly for individuals. It feels cramped. The burgers are decent, on the smaller size portion, but not amazingly different from other places. If you happen to be in the area, it’s worth a visit. Otherwise, it’s very inconvenient and probably not worth a special trip.

Tiny place that hits the spot - Edit
A small burger place with a hip atmosphere with a small menu of vegetarian burgers (though everything can be made vegan). The place is very cramped; though there is seating you should plan on take-out (there is a park nearby). I confess that I prefer the fast food in the Vegan Court which is nearby on St. Marks place; still, the food here is tasty and good for a quick bite.

AMAZING burger - Edit
Believe the hype on this one, I really thought the burger was delicious. It's not trying to be meat-like and its not your typical grainy veg based burger either. It has a unique texture and the flavour is amazing. Hard to describe, you should try the burger for yourself! I loved it. The sides were less memorable (still tasty though) so overall a great takeaway spot in this 'hip' area.

So hip, so good. - Edit
A place that is too hip for its own good, but that sums up the changing Lower East Side. Good burgers, though. Eat in Tompkins Square Park as you'll be lucky to find a space inside.
