Friendliest welcome

2024 - Another vegan market and more delicious food from Sunshine. Scotch eggs are the best, and the sausage rolls with apple sauce were fab. Love Sarah's food, always have!

2023 - Sunshine is now an online business who also visits vegan markets. Had the scotch eggs from Beanies market - delicious.

2019 - Sarah welcomes with open arms and a huge smile. Sunshine Deli are happy to tweak the menu, if it’s possible. Eaten here as a couple and as large groups, always had a happy time. Good value for money and filling food.

😍

I ate here last year 2 times in the space of 24 hours. Kebab meat and chicken, chicken wrap, mac and cheese balls (the best), and was blown away with how amazing the meals were both tines. The cakes we had were however very dry, but didn't put us off at all

Pros: Fully vegan menu

Amazing when good but v hit and miss

Fantastic menu selection (never had so many choices in my life), really friendly staff. Non vegan partner said best vegan meal he has ever had and would defo eat here again!

Edit:
We've ordered takeaways from here and eaten in several times now and it is very hit and miss! Sometimes amazing food and we get exactly what the menu says we are going to get but then over times it isn't great, things are missing or different to what the menu says. If they can sort out the discrepancies it really would be amazing!

Pros: Lots of options, friendly staff

Cons: small establishment, very hit and miss quality

Not great.

It feels really wrong to leave a bad review for a vegan place, but I feel duped by all the great reviews. It's great that it's vegan, that they offer a variety of food and cakes and have friendly staff. However, I was incredibly disappointed! £6.50 for "chip shop" battered sausage and chips which was basically a portion of generic chunky oven chips (not even fully cooked) & 2 (what tasted exactly like) Linda McCartney sausages in batter. Linda McCartney sausages aren't really 'chip shop' battered sausages. I've eaten in plenty of other vegan fish and chip shop type places that do this so much better. I won't be returning. What a shame.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly staff, Deli counter with pastries and pies

Cons: Overpriced, Not great quality , A meal I could've chucked in the oven at home

Fantastic food

Popped in here for lunch today. We both had the hot dinner, with fries. The portions were very generous, the kebabish meat was fantastic.

Pros: Totally vegan, Lots of options

Good at what they do

Visited on a rainy Sunday purely for vegan status.

The menu was impressive and promised a lot of vegan-style junk food which is something I’ve missed. Wanted to try a few things but ended up over ordering as portion sizes were enormous. No bad thing I guess and was able to take away.

Great seitan donner, seitan chicken a little flavourless but sauces and seasonings were spot on.

Biggest flaw with my visit was the long wait time (only one staff member to cook, serve, make drinks and take orders). Also, the place was coooold. The only things preventing top marks.

Would come again if in the area.

Pros: All vegan, Great food, Innovative and inventive menu

Cons: Slow service (on my day anyway), Dining area needs to be more comfortable

Cruelty Free Chicken!

I've been to Sunshine Deli a few times and it's always a delight. The Sunday lunch is epic, and the 'CFC party bucket' (basically a huge delicious platter of faux KFC made of seitan) is truly amazing. Highly recommend!

Pros: Delicious vegan food, Friendly staff, Great faux meats

Great place

I turned up about half hour before closing and the 2 owners were so lovely and welcoming, I had lots of questions about the food and menu and they were enthusiastic and helpful with their answers. The battered banana blossom f’sh and chips were lovely and I look forward to trying some of their more homely food rather than the stereotypical vegan junk food that you get in most nearby vegan eateries.

Pros: 100% vegan , Very friendly , Great cupcakes

Cons: Location isn’t amazing

Great food

I’ve tried 3 or 4 things from the menu and I haven’t been disappointed yet. For me the stand out dish is the vegan fish & chips - amazing. I’ve also just tried the cheesecake key lime pudding which was really good.

Pros: Great menu, all vegan, Amazing fish & chips, Super friendly staff

S6 is blessed. The future is bright.

I’m back and forth between Sheffield and Manchester every week or so and since I tried this place, I knew it was a place I can rely on for quick, tasty af food. As of recent Sunshine Deli has expanded the menu and gone completely Vegan. Hats off to any place taking that step.

The food. This is all home made which I love, it’s real comfort food which is what you want in a diner like this. You can tell it’s made with thought and generosity.
Currently I’ve tried, Full Monty Breakfast, Cheeseburger & Chip, SFC Burger, The Classic Kebab. The tastes are incredible for me with my favourite being The Full Monty. It carries the traditions of a full English like it should and hits that spot when you crave a full English to start the day off. Perfect place to start the day off here before the game and a few beers. I feel a calm atmosphere in there.

The reason why I say S6 is blessed is because it’s the only completely Vegan place without going to the other side of the city. It’s a new place and I’m saying it’s a DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH. Everything is there for a bright future and it’s just the start here. .

Completely dog friendly! Always a pro no matter what.

If I really had to choose anything it could be that someone needs to be at the front of house more to greet someone within 10-15 second, even if it’s just popping out a head in the kitchen to say hello and how long it could be. I know this is a new business which I always take into consideration and I see how hard working people are in there.

They do delivery til late. I’m yet to have anything delivered so cannot yet comment on the delivery service.

As of now, food, service and venue, 5*

Pros: Tasty af - , Generosity, Calm atmosphere

I really want to like it

The opportunity for a good quality vegan cafe at this side of the city is there and these guys are missing a trick. The owners are so lovely and you can see they care about what people think. I’ve been a couple of times to try to give it the benefit of the doubt but my second experience was worse than the first. Firstly the place does feel dirty and a little ‘sticky’ I can cope with that greasy spoon feel if it were reflected in the prices. This place is way over priced for the quality. The first time I went I had the donner kebab which felt really basic, even the wraps it’s served on are so basic. The second time they had a different member of staff who was alone & struggled to cope with four customers. Which meant forgetting things - I had the southern fried chicken and it was like eating rubber. The menu looks great if only the quality of food lived up to it!

Amazing fish

This place has recently gone fully vegan. Amazing food, the fish is one of the nicest, most delicious things I’ve ever eaten and tastes exactly like fish and it came with tartar sauce which I haven’t had since going vegan. My boyf had a Turkish kebab which came with salad and 3 sauces - he’s not as keen on fake meat as I am but he loved this! There were loads of options that I wanted - burgers, chicken, breakfast food, pies, Yorkshire pudding wraps. The place itself had a nice atmosphere and was clean and tidy, plus the owner was super friendly.

Pros: Fish was amazing, Reasonable prices, Choice

Cons: No cons

Disappointed

I ordered the vegan 'fish' and chips. The 'fish' was nothing more than a few strips (and by that I mean one or two thin pieces) of unseasoned jackfruit covered in batter served on top on an enormous pile of chips. It wasn't anything substantial and didn't taste of anything.

I also felt the cafe was unclean as the tables hadn't been wiped down and there were bits of food on the floor.

The owner was friendly enough and I really wanted to like this cafe as the menu looked really good. I had also read a lot of positive reviews on Facebook, where apparently this cafe has 41 five star reviews. Maybe we just caught them on an off day, but to be honest I don't fancy going back to find out..

Pros: friendly owner, lots of chips

Cons: disappointed with food, cafe could be cleaner, overpriced
