Sunrice, Sunset - Edit
Probably a good place to watch the sun set. On the top floor of this very modern shopping complex. Friendly staff. We had the crispy rice, Tico Roll (without crab) and the Veggie Udon Bowl. All of it was delicious and nicely presented. Tico Roll has plantains which was a great local addition to sushi!

Okay little spot with several vegan options. Everything is clearly marked on the menu and the owner is very friendly and easy to talk too. Definitely try the tico roll!

Great options and the food is really tasty. The staff are friendly and attentive. However, I do think it is quite expensive as the portions are small, so you pay a lot and are not really full.

I simply love this place. Being a vegetarian in Costa Rica, i found that this place has the better vegan/vegetarian options. They are really tasty (something hatd to find in cr), and they have a bit of everything, from sushi to noodle bowls.

Delicious and most friendly owner I ever met! - Edit
I came back 2 nights in a row, that's how good it was! First time I had the chicken salad without chicken but with crispy tofu, the owner made the change very easily! I was craving veggies and tofu so that made my day! Then I had the sushi with plantain and the udon with veggies it was again delicious, plus the owner Michael sat down with us to drink some saké and offered us a glass of wine! It was so lovely to meet him and he welcomed us as his friends! Cannot recommend you enough to go there!

We had the most enjoyable experience! The food was delicious , the ambiance was great, As well as the service. It was so nice to finally find a restaurant in the area that offered real vegan options. We loved the crispy rice with avocado, and the tico roll that had plaintain was exquisite.We happened to stop by on happy hour and we had delicious strawberry mojitos.We liked it so much we went by again the last day of our trip in which we tasted their vegan ice cream, I loved the passion fruit ! If you are looking for tasty and healthy vegetarian/vegan food this is your place. The best food we tasted in the area. Loved the location in the marina. Hopefully we’ll be back on our next trip to Costa Rica .

Friendly Staff with items clearly marked Vegan - Edit
Im always skeptical about ordering vegan food at a non vegan restaurant but Sunrice clearly states items that are vegan and vegetarian right on the menu. The staff was also willing to make us a special vegan appetizer since they had run out of the wrappers for the vegan spring rolls. The vegan ice cream was a nice treat too. We had some vegan sushi with tico style (with plantains) and an udon noodle bowl. When we come back to the quepos area we will definitely be stopping at sunrice.

Wonderful Sushi on the Marina - Edit
Went to Sunrice almost every day while I was in Costa Rica in early Feb. My Girlfriend and I really enjoyed the Baked Crab Roll and the Volcano Roll, so delicious!

This restaurant is located on the second floor of the marina. It’s definitely a tourist area and everything is much more expensive but they do have a nice view and lovely setup. The owner is friendly and clearly advertises his vegan options, they even offer vegan ice cream for dessert. We enjoyed our lunch and would come back.

Food was good. We had Edamame beans for entree and then I had noodle bowl, my boyfriend Teriyaki rice bowl and took ice cream to go. It was pricey and we both left hungry. Also, before going you have to know that it’s like a healthy fast food place in American style shopping centre. Would be worth to go only if you missed civilisation and don’t mind of eating in shopping centre..

Sunrice is my favorite restaurant in all of Costa Rica! They have an eclectic menu featuring Asian cuisine with traditional Costa Rican influence. The poke bowls, udon noodles, teriyaki bowls, sushi rolls, and bento boxes are delicious; and the staff and owners are very kind and gracious. They even have healthy vegan and organic ice cream! I love this place and will be back for more!!

Yes, I’m one of those “picky” eaters—something that started in childhood and followed into adulthood. I am so fussy about my food that traveling is problematic. Imagine my delight, walking into a place that was aromatic, and started off with amazing customer service—answering all of my questions and making amazing vegan suggestions. This is a quaint setting full of character. The staff was extremely attentive and the food was amazing and very reasonably priced… but back to the food—-it was definitely the highlight of my journey. Several couples were on their second visit over the course of one vacation....it was that good! BTW- I had vegetarian sushi and an avocado dish to die for! Definitely a must if you are visiting. Make this one of your stops for sure!!!! And fellow picky eaters and vegans with a sophisticated palate, you will thank me!
