So much to choose from for vegans. They have a lot of tofu and soya based dishes. They also dont use onion and garlic in cooking.

Decent, but had better food - Edit
Food was alright, but pricy. Paid 32,50 NZD for dumplings, stir fry, and rice. Loved the food at Vegan for Longevity & Health way more!

Good but not great - Edit
A little hard to find but they serve some decent food. We were visiting from Australia and needed some vegan food after our flight and long day exploring. We ordered four dishes:
Read moreMoney bags entree: Peanuts and something else wrapped in a dumpling wrapper then deep fried, served with sweet dipping sauce. Not particularly interesting or tasty, just a crunch with a soft filling. It was too sweet with the dipping sauce and too dry without it.
Sesame pancakes entree: basically a roti. Flaky pastry with a mild sesame flavour. I didn't really enjoy it but my partner loved it.
Noodles with sour and spicy soup: a huge bowl of noodles in a spicy and oily soup. Make sure you are hungry if you order this! Not much vegetables in it but the flavour was decent.
Soy duck with rice and veg: really nice faux duck, very sticky and moist, strong flavour and nice texture.
Overall we left very full and I wasn't disappointed with the food, but I wish we'd ordered more vegetable dishes as I felt quite heavy from all the starch and gluten. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things.
Oh yeah we also got the smoked plum tea... That was disgusting. Must be an acquired taste.

Great place - Edit
Cheap Thai place that’s all meat-free but with plenty of fake meat options if that’s your thing. I really enjoyed the mock duck and the spring rolls were good but the dip wasn’t so good and lacked any spice.

Best value dinner in Auckland!! - Edit
I went here with a friend and we ordered the red bean pancake, 10 piece dumplings, crispy ‘chicken’ & tofu pad Thai. Everything was delicious, good portions, the service was fast and the price was very reasonable. This would be more first choice for a healthier, delicious, affordable mea in the city!

Flavorful - Edit
It’s the best feeling to be in an all vegan restaurant. You can choose anything on the menu! We had noodle soup and a stir fried dish. Both are amazing! By the way, nearly every dish contains fake meat - I have no problem with them, just want to add this for those who are not big fan of meat substitutes.

Delicious and good value - Edit
Fully vegan Thai restaurant in the middle of the city. Good value mains, typically around $15, and lots of choice of stir fries, rice, curry, noodles etc.

Tasty Food, Service Meh - Edit
We came here on the basis of various reviews on HappyCow. Wasn't immediately obvious where it was located when we got to the address, as it's located in a kinda mini-mall with other outlets. When we found it, it looked pretty basic, but clean. The sign out front said they were 100% vegan, then it mentioned they were vegetarian - quite confusing.
Read moreWhen we looked at the menu, there were lots of mentions of all kinds of meat, without any "quotes" around the words to indicate it wasn't really meat. All the usuals, plus things like mutton, steak etc. But on the front of the menu it said there was no meat, but we asked anyway. Apparently all the places where it says meat, they have replaced with tofu. As far as I'm aware, they don't use any other kind of protein.
Now to the good stuff. We ordered spring rolls & Pad Thai to share. The spring rolls came out in a few minutes, were piping hot and tasted great, not greasy at all. Tick.
About 5 minutes after the Pad Thai arrived, which was delicious. If I had to pick holes, the noodles were so long that it was really hard to pickup without splashing sauce on the table. But that's really nitpicking, because I would order that again in a heartbeat.
So would I go back again? Probably yes, but maybe takeaway instead?
Pros: Excellent food, Good value
Cons: Service only Ok, Ambience meh

The food was just SO TASTY. We ordered the steamed dumplings, “chicken” in peanut sauce and stirfried egg plant in special sauce. The presentation is lovely and the food is cooked to a very high quality

Nice! - Edit
The place is a little hard to find at first, as it's behind some dumpling place.
Read moreLots of options, certainly not just typical Thai classis, but loads of Chinese style stuff too.
It's a little hard to choose, also because some dishes cost way more than others and it's not always clear why (larger portions?). Service is very friendly though they don't all speak English super well.
Went here twice and enjoyed it quite a lot, though it's not the best looking place, not the cheapest or best. But it has a bit of everything and it's well worth visiting imho.

Terrible - Edit
Both our dishes tasted awful. Was like eating sugar covered noodles. Pad Thai peanuts were blended to sand like texture, dry, bland and weird taste. Plates chipped, dirty walls and toilet. Only excuses when we gave them feedback.

Absolutely scrumptious! - Edit
After wanting to visit for ages my partner and I finally went to Sunflower Thai last night and it did not disappoint. We had the panfried dumplings to start, they were beautifully fresh and the dough was perfect. My partner has a tofu noodle dish which looked great and tasted even better and I had the soy chicken in peanut sauce, which was lovely but very rich and filling, it was served with a big slice of lettuce and some salad, and wrapping a bundle in lettuce to eat it was really tasty. All in all, I can't wait to go back!
